About the Role
~1 min readWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced EHS Officer to join our Auckland-based team on a part-time basis (3 days per week).
Reporting into the EHS Business Partner - Pacific, you will play a key role in supporting our New Zealand operations, driving compliance, continuous improvement, and fostering a strong safety culture. This position offers exposure to a variety of business functions and projects, creating excellent opportunities for professional growth within a global organisation.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Develop, implement, and maintain JCI's Integrated Business Management Systems (EHSQ).
- →Ensure compliance with company systems through regular audits and assessments.
- →Conduct and coordinate site audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
- →Support EHSQ reporting and performance metrics across the Pacific region.
- →Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- →Lead quality assurance activities and monitor performance against established procedures.
- →Deliver EHSQ and compliance training to employees and stakeholders.
- →Assist with incident investigations and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- →Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality legislation.
- →Conduct risk assessments and develop safe work method statements.
- →Coordinate Health & Safety Committee activities and communicate outcomes to key stakeholders.
- →Provide expert advice on health, safety, environmental, welfare, and quality matters.
- →Manage Return to Work processes and injury management activities.
- →Champion best practices and drive a proactive culture aligned to our commitment to Zero Harm.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Qualification in Quality Assurance or a related discipline (preferred).
- Minimum Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Lead Auditor qualifications in ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
- 3-5 years' experience within a heavy manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment.
- Incident investigation training or qualification (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation and quality management systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills.
- A proactive approach and passion for creating safe, high-performing workplaces.
Requirements

- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, criminal history check, and drug and alcohol screening.
