As a Shop Technician, you will perform service and maintenance on fire extinguishers in a fixed-location shop environment with no travel required. You will help keep equipment ready for use, maintain accurate service records, and support a clean, organized, and safe work area.


Responsibilities

  • →Perform service and maintenance on fire extinguishers, including recharging, testing, and six- and twelve-year maintenance work.
  • →Accurately complete reports, inspection tags, paperwork, and maintenance records for extinguisher service activities.
  • →Perform routine and preventive maintenance on extinguisher shop test equipment.
  • →Maintain the organization, operation, and cleanliness of the work area.
  • →Use hand tools safely and complete repetitive production tasks, including lifting, sliding, and general extinguisher handling.
  • →Wear all minimum PPE required by Johnson Controls, as well as specialized PPE when needed for specific work situations.
  • →Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at work.
  • →Complete required employment paperwork, such as timecards, in a timely and professional manner.
  • →Participate in periodic Johnson Controls business meetings and contribute to the growth and sustainability of the business.
  • →Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience is not required; on-the-job training is provided.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions, including lifting, sliding, and general production work.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a required licensing test.
  • Ability to pass a drug test, background check, and BMV check.
  • Comfort working in a shop environment and maintaining accurate records.
