We are building a talent pool of experienced accounting professionals to support growing international accounting firms serving clients in the United States and Australia. In this remote role, you will work directly with overseas accounting teams to manage financial records, maintain accurate books, and support day-to-day accounting operations across multiple client accounts. You will use leading accounting platforms and international payment tools to streamline transactions, reconcile financial data, and prepare reliable financial reports. Depending on your expertise, you may also contribute to tax preparation and compliance activities aligned with US or Australian accounting standards. With flexible full-time and part-time opportunities, this position offers the chance to collaborate with international clients across diverse industries. Manage day-to-day bookkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records across multiple client accounts, categorize transactions, clear bookkeeping backlogs, reconcile accounts, and ensure general ledgers remain complete and up to date.

Operate accounting software: Use QuickBooks Online and/or Xero to manage bookkeeping workflows, maintain financial data, and support efficient accounting operations.

Handle accounts payable and receivable: Prepare and issue invoices, track incoming payments, manage recurring and retainer billing, process vendor payments, and send payment reminders on behalf of client businesses.

Manage international transactions: Process cross-border payments and multi-currency transactions using platforms such as Airwallex, Wise, Stripe, and other relevant financial tools.

Prepare financial statements: Produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports for multiple client entities.

Support tax preparation and compliance: Assist accounting teams with tax filing preparation and compliance-related activities under applicable US or Australian requirements, including IRS and US GAAP-related processes or Australian Taxation Office (ATO), Business Activity Statement (BAS), and GST requirements.

Maintain financial accuracy and documentation: Ensure transactions are properly recorded, supporting documents are organized, and accounting records meet the quality standards expected by international accounting firms.

Collaborate with international teams: Integrate into remote accounting and finance teams, coordinate with colleagues and clients, and provide reliable operational support across different time zones.

Manage multiple client portfolios: Prioritize competing deadlines, maintain consistent service quality across client accounts, and adapt to different industries, accounting workflows, and business requirements.

Support continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline bookkeeping processes, improve reporting accuracy, and increase efficiency through effective use of accounting software and digital collaboration tools.

Relevant accounting experience: Demonstrated professional experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounting Specialist, Accountant, or Certified Public Accountant (CPA), with practical experience supporting clients in the United States and/or Australia.

International accounting exposure: A proven track record of managing bookkeeping or accounting activities for US or Australian clients, with familiarity with the financial processes and reporting expectations of the relevant market.

Accounting software proficiency: Advanced hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and/or Xero, including transaction categorization, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Multi-currency payment expertise: Practical experience using international payment platforms such as Airwallex and Wise, managing foreign-currency transactions, and handling international bank transfers. Familiarity with Stripe or PayPal is also beneficial.

Financial reporting skills: The ability to prepare accurate financial statements, including profit and loss reports, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, across multiple client entities.

Tax and regulatory knowledge: Familiarity with US accounting and tax requirements, including US GAAP, IRS-related processes, 1099s, and sales tax, and/or Australian requirements, including GST, BAS, and ATO compliance.

Attention to detail: A meticulous and structured approach to financial data, with a strong commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, documentation, and compliance.

English proficiency: Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate professionally with international clients and accounting teams.

Remote working capabilities: The ability to work independently, manage priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively in a distributed team environment.

Time-zone flexibility: Willingness to align working hours and team check-ins with US business hours or Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST), depending on the assigned client and engagement.

Adaptability across industries: Ability to support clients with different business models, accounting needs, and reporting requirements.

Additional industry experience: Experience supporting e-commerce businesses, SaaS companies, creative industries, or professional services firms is an advantage.

Digital collaboration skills: Familiarity with remote working and productivity tools such as Slack, Google Workspace, and Asana is beneficial.

Professional credentials: Accounting qualifications, CPA credentials, or relevant certifications such as QuickBooks Online certification are advantageous, depending on the position and client requirements.

Flexible engagement preference: Openness to working as an independent contractor in either a part-time or full-time capacity, depending on availability and the needs of the matched firm.
