We are seeking an experienced Senior ServiceNow Consultant specializing in Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) to support enterprise technology transformation initiatives. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize ServiceNow solutions that improve how organizations track, manage, and maintain their hardware and software assets throughout their lifecycle. You will play a key role in strengthening asset visibility, streamlining workflows, and integrating enterprise systems to ensure accurate and reliable asset information. Working closely with technical teams, developers, and business stakeholders, you will translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions. You will also contribute to platform modernization, automation, and continuous improvement while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and security standards. Design, develop, configure, and enhance ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) capabilities to support enterprise asset management throughout the complete asset lifecycle.

Develop solutions connecting service catalog offerings, procurement requests, asset fulfillment processes, and entitlement management to create consistent and efficient end-user experiences.

Configure and maintain asset management workflows covering hardware assignments, software provisioning, license allocation, renewals, and asset reclamation.

Improve enterprise asset visibility by developing solutions that allow stakeholders to identify available hardware, assigned equipment, software licenses, and associated ownership information.

Strengthen the integration between the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and asset management records to ensure configuration items accurately represent deployed hardware and software.

Build and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and external inventory management platforms to improve asset discovery, data accuracy, and reconciliation.

Develop automated processes to identify and resolve discrepancies between inventory sources, address conflicting asset information, and correct incomplete or outdated records.

Customize Service Catalog items, record producers, and Service Portal functionality to capture essential asset information and simplify equipment-related requests.

Implement workflow enhancements that ensure equipment and asset information is properly documented and updated during incident resolution, service requests, and project activities.

Design and maintain integrations that synchronize asset information across enterprise systems while respecting data ownership, governance, and security requirements.

Develop technical solutions using ServiceNow Flow Designer, business rules, client scripts, Script Includes, and other platform development capabilities.

Create and maintain API integrations using REST/SOAP services, IntegrationHub, MID Server, Import Sets, and Transform Maps.

Apply JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting techniques to customize platform functionality, automate processes, and optimize system performance.

Participate in technical design discussions and ensure HAM/SAM solutions align with enterprise architecture, platform standards, and existing asset management processes.

Develop automated testing procedures, conduct code reviews, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain the quality, security, and reliability of platform enhancements.

Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and developers to translate functional requirements into practical and scalable development solutions.

Participate in Agile delivery activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, technical estimation, and team discussions.

Support solution deployments through testing, implementation, end-user training, technical documentation, and post-deployment assistance.

Provide technical guidance and share development best practices with colleagues while contributing to continuous platform improvement and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

At least 8 years of professional ServiceNow development experience, including a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience implementing ServiceNow HAM and/or SAM Professional solutions.

Experience implementing and supporting at least three ServiceNow modules.

Strong understanding of ServiceNow HAM and SAM capabilities, including asset lifecycle management, hardware models, stockrooms, software entitlements, license normalization, reconciliation, and reclamation.

Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining CMDB solutions, with knowledge of the Common Service Data Model (CSDM), configuration item classifications, asset-to-CI relationships, and the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE).

Hands-on experience integrating ServiceNow Discovery and external inventory sources with the CMDB.

Experience with hardware and software inventory integrations, including Microsoft SCCM or comparable enterprise discovery and inventory platforms.

Proficiency in developing ServiceNow Service Catalog solutions, including catalog items, record producers, variable sets, and Service Portal enhancements.

Strong experience with Flow Designer, workflow automation, business rules, notifications, and platform configuration.

Practical experience developing and supporting REST/SOAP integrations, IntegrationHub, MID Server, Import Sets, and Transform Maps.

Advanced JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting skills, including GlideRecord, GlideSystem, Script Includes, Scheduled Jobs, GlideAjax, and g_form.

Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and AngularJS for Service Portal development and customization.

Understanding of software development lifecycle practices, including version control, CI/CD, DevSecOps, automated testing, and code quality standards.

Experience working in Agile development environments and collaborating effectively with technical and functional teams.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to independently resolve complex technical challenges and deliver solutions that meet business and operational requirements.

Experience supporting classified Intelligence Community or Department of Defense environments is preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts, document solutions, and collaborate with stakeholders.

Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance is mandatory. TS/SCI clearance is strongly preferred.

Both ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Hardware Asset Management and Software Asset Management certifications.

ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Discovery certification.

ITIL 4 Foundation certification.

Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) certification.

Experience with ServiceNow Discovery and Service Graph Connectors, including integrations with SCCM, Forescout, or Axonius.

Familiarity with enterprise asset governance, data quality management, inventory reconciliation, and authoritative data source management.

Experience integrating asset management platforms with financial tracking and cost allocation systems.

Knowledge of ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF), CI/CD pipelines, and secure development practices.

Experience developing solutions across multiple ServiceNow environments and supporting enterprise-wide platform enhancements.

Ability to mentor developers, provide technical guidance, and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience supporting federal government customers and working in regulated or security-sensitive environments.

CompTIA Security+.

ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).

ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).

At least one of the following:

ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Hardware Asset Management.

ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Software Asset Management.
