Senior FP&A Manager
Quick Summary

This role offers the opportunity to serve as a strategic finance partner to an Engineering organization within a fast-paced technology environment. You will own forecasting, headcount planning, spend analysis, and cost management while helping leaders understand the financial impact of their decisions. The position combines deep business partnering with broader corporate FP&A responsibilities, including budgeting, long-range planning, and rolling forecasts. You will develop actionable insights from financial and operating data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Your work will directly support sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and informed decision-making across the organization. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced FP&A professional who enjoys working closely with technical leaders and influencing business outcomes.
- Serve as a strategic finance partner to Engineering leadership, owning headcount planning, COGS and operating expense forecasting, and cost center management.
- Partner with Engineering and Product leaders to analyze key spending drivers, including capitalized software costs, infrastructure and cloud spending, and resourcing trade-offs.
- Develop and manage product-level P&Ls, providing visibility into profitability, cost allocation, and margin drivers across product lines.
- Define and monitor key operating metrics, connect them to financial outcomes, and proactively identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Diagnose the root causes behind margin performance and communicate key risks and insights to leadership.
- Support annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-range strategic planning across business units.
- Partner with finance leadership to prepare materials and analysis for the Board of Directors, Investor Relations, and other financial stakeholders.
- Deliver clear, actionable financial insights that support sustainable growth, improved efficiency, and sound business decisions.
Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA is a plus.
- Proven experience independently managing complex FP&A processes and serving as a trusted finance business partner to Engineering or other technical organizations.
- Strong experience with headcount planning, operating expense forecasting, cost-driver analysis, and financial modeling.
- Exposure to corporate FP&A processes such as budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and Board reporting.
- Strong understanding of SaaS business models and key performance metrics, including ARR, CAC, and margin structures.
- Proficiency with financial planning and enterprise finance tools such as NetSuite and Workday Adaptive Planning, as well as advanced Google Sheets modeling.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear insights for both finance and functional stakeholders.
- Strong business judgment, analytical thinking, curiosity, and attention to detail.
- Self-starter who can independently manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence decision-making across the organization.
