Technical Tools
Product ManagementSenior Product Manager

The Senior Product Manager will own the strategy and development of workforce compliance products, with a primary focus on employee handbooks, compliance learning, and multi-state regulatory requirements. This role addresses critical challenges faced by employers and their partners as they navigate changing labor laws, maintain compliant policies, and ensure employees complete required training and acknowledgments. Working within a newly established product team, the successful candidate will lead customer discovery, define product priorities, and translate evidence-based insights into practical, scalable solutions. The position combines B2B SaaS product leadership with AI-enabled workflows, expert-reviewed compliance guidance, and integrations across partner platforms. Through close collaboration with engineering, design, data science, and compliance specialists, the Senior Product Manager will help simplify complex processes and deliver measurable improvements in accuracy, efficiency, and customer outcomes.

  • Own the customer problem and product direction for employee handbooks, compliance learning, multi-state and jurisdiction management, and onboarding workflows, excluding I-9 and E-Verify.

  • Develop a deep understanding of employers, HR practitioners, brokers, professional employer organizations (PEOs), and other stakeholders, identifying their needs, responsibilities, and current compliance challenges across direct and partner channels.

  • Define measurable product outcomes, such as reducing handbook production time, increasing employee acknowledgment rates, and improving training completion against regulatory deadlines.

  • Lead continuous customer discovery through regular interviews with employers, HR professionals, brokers, PEOs, internal experts, and reviews of sales and customer support feedback.

  • Translate research findings into explicit, testable assumptions, clearly distinguishing validated evidence from hypotheses and using insights to guide product decisions.

  • Partner with Product Design to validate proposed solutions through prototypes and small-scale experiments before committing engineering resources.

  • Own the handbook lifecycle, including information intake, verified policy selection and assembly, multi-state and section-level editing, review and human approval, version management, publication, and portability across sponsors and brokers.

  • Lead compliance learning experiences that assign and track required training based on employees’ work jurisdictions and provide reliable evidence of completion.

  • Develop multi-state and jurisdiction management capabilities that trigger appropriate policies, notices, training assignments, and alerts when workforce locations or headcounts change.

  • Oversee onboarding-related compliance workflows, including state reporting, wage theft prevention notices, and employee acknowledgment of handbooks and policies at hiring and following policy updates.

  • Design post-approval workflows for policy distribution, employee acknowledgment tracking, manager guidance, and human-reviewed handoffs of policy changes to payroll and HR information systems.

  • Collaborate with AI and intelligence platform teams to create experiences that reuse shared labor law intelligence and employer context, incorporate cited guidance and expert review, and clearly define when automated agents can act versus when human approval or licensed expertise is required.

  • Define how products are delivered through direct experiences, partner platforms, chat, and APIs, ensuring appropriate attribution and consistent functionality across channels.

  • Produce clear product requirements and decision documents, prioritize the product backlog, guide launches, and drive adoption and continuous iteration.

  • Establish, instrument, and monitor product performance metrics, communicating results transparently and adjusting priorities based on evidence.

  • Balance existing customer and partner commitments with future product plans, escalating risks and competing priorities early.

  • Work closely with engineering, design, data science, compliance content teams, HR advisory experts, Customer Success, partner management, and go-to-market teams.

  • Enable partners to communicate product value and demonstrate utilization to their customers, while equipping sales, support, and implementation teams with the information needed to support successful adoption.

  • Deliver first-year outcomes that include a shared customer research synthesis, shorter handbook production cycles, reduced revision churn, improved multi-state editing, measurable acknowledgment and training evidence, and a validated human-reviewed workflow connecting approved policy changes with employee distribution and payroll configuration.

  • Experience serving multiple distinct audiences within the same product ecosystem, such as a partner that purchases or distributes a solution and an employer who uses it.

  • Proven ability to write concise, decision-ready product requirements and documentation that engineering, design, and subject-matter experts can execute without extensive clarification.

  • Experience defining and defending success metrics, monitoring product performance, and changing direction when evidence indicates a different approach is needed.

  • Experience collaborating with subject-matter experts in legal, compliance, clinical, or similarly regulated fields where accuracy and reliability are essential.
