Technical Tools
Software EngineeringIntegration Developer

Join an innovative energy technology team focused on delivering reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity through advanced power generation solutions.
As a Staff Power Systems Site Integration Engineer, you will serve as the technical authority responsible for ensuring project sites are fully integrated, validated, and ready for commissioning.
You will bridge engineering design and real-world operations, overseeing the readiness of electrical, mechanical, control, and communication systems.
Working closely with contractors, equipment integrators, customers, and internal engineering teams, you will resolve technical issues and ensure installations meet approved specifications.
You will contribute to complex power infrastructure projects supporting commercial facilities, data centers, utilities, and other energy-intensive environments.
The role combines hands-on field engineering, industrial automation expertise, safety compliance, and cross-functional project coordination.
This remote opportunity offers the chance to influence scalable deployment processes while contributing to the transition toward cleaner, more resilient energy systems.

  • Technical Design Review: Interpret project scopes, engineering drawings, single-line and three-line diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), control narratives, and sequences of operation. Act as a controls subject matter expert during design reviews and ensure implementation aligns with engineering intent.
  • Site Readiness and Quality Assurance: Own site-level readiness following construction completion, verifying that electrical, mechanical, fuel, metering, protection, and communication systems are installed correctly and comply with approved drawings and specifications. Identify discrepancies, develop punch lists, and drive corrective actions through completion.
  • Electrical and Mechanical Validation: Review and witness installation verification, wiring and termination checks, grounding, insulation resistance and continuity testing, phase rotation, electrical acceptance tests, equipment anchoring, gas piping pressure and leak tests, purging, ventilation, exhaust, and fuel regulator setup.
  • Controls and Equipment Integration: Verify protective relay settings, meter configurations, and controller programming against approved documentation. Configure and validate site-level control systems and troubleshoot industrial communication networks and protocols, including Modbus TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP, Profibus, OPC-UA, and DNP3.
  • PLC, SCADA, and HMI Integration: Support integration with customer automation and monitoring platforms, including Ignition, SEL RTAC, Siemens WinCC, AVEVA Wonderware, Rockwell FactoryTalk, and Schneider EcoStruxure, ensuring reliable communication and effective system control.
  • Commissioning Readiness and Handoffs: Coordinate with the generator commissioning team to confirm all site-level prerequisites are complete before equipment startup. Communicate readiness status, outstanding issues, risks, and next steps to project stakeholders.
  • Testing and Utility Coordination: Plan and document Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), establish acceptance criteria for customer and utility witness testing, and verify that as-built system behavior matches the intended design. Support Permission to Operate (PTO) by preparing accurate technical documentation for utility submissions in coordination with the interconnection team.
  • Documentation and Operational Turnover: Maintain site QA/QC records and ensure all systems are validated and ready for handover to customers and operations teams. Develop repeatable documentation, checklists, dashboards, SAT templates, equipment configuration guides, and site procedures.
  • Process Improvement and Field Support: Establish standardized site integration practices that improve consistency, quality, and deployment efficiency. Travel to project locations as required to verify readiness, conduct testing, resolve technical issues, and support project delivery.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline. Equivalent practical field experience may be considered.
  • Professional Experience: At least five years of experience in pre-commissioning, commissioning, field applications, or controls engineering for power generation, battery energy storage, solar, microgrid, or industrial facility projects.
  • Power Systems and Controls Expertise: Demonstrated hands-on experience configuring, integrating, and troubleshooting protective relays, automation controllers, revenue meters, power quality meters, PLCs, and industrial control systems.
  • Relevant Platforms and Equipment: Familiarity with technologies such as SEL relays and RTAC, GE Multilin, Beckwith, ABB, SEL-735, Schneider ION, GE kV2c, Itron, Allen-Bradley ControlLogix or CompactLogix, Siemens S7, and Schneider Modicon.
  • SCADA and Industrial Automation: Experience with SCADA/HMI platforms such as Ignition, Siemens WinCC, AVEVA Wonderware, or Rockwell FactoryTalk View, along with a working knowledge of industrial communication protocols and operational technology (OT) networking.
  • Technical Documentation and Interpretation: Ability to interpret single-line and three-line diagrams, P&IDs, control narratives, sequences of operation, construction plans, and electrical acceptance test reports. Understanding of balance-of-plant systems, including fuel and gas infrastructure, low- and medium-voltage electrical systems, metering, protection, and communications.
  • Codes and Safety Standards: Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 37, NFPA 54, and applicable field safety practices. Familiarity with NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout (LOTO), energization procedures, and arc-flash hazard awareness is essential.
  • Testing and Troubleshooting: Experience planning and documenting SAT activities and supporting utility witness testing for PTO. Ability to safely operate electrical and network testing equipment, including multimeters, phase rotation meters, network cable and fiber testers, and power quality analyzers in construction or live-plant environments.
