Test Lead (Automation)

Role Description:
This is a full-time on-site role for an Automation Test Lead located in Bengaluru. Responsible for
designing, developing, and implementing test automation solutions for our product software.
Depending upon the project’s need may lead to functional or non-functional testing, and
automated as well as manual testing for such apps.

This is a technical leadership role that involves testing complex features and working
independently while collaborating with other leaders to meet the project’s objectives. Depending
upon the project's need, may lead less experienced testers in the team and supervise their work.

Job Responsibilities;
1. Study business requirements and product architecture to understand the broader testing
context.
2. Build test automation frameworks, automation strategy, and test scripts using appropriate
tools and techniques.
3. Partner with product managers and development leads to understand application
requirements and ensure these are effectively tested.
4. Participate actively in team discussions, providing feedback on testing practices and
processes.
5. Test complex features and requirements effectively with the aim of detecting maximum
defects.
6. Use a risk-based approach to plan testing across requirements to ensure a good balance
between effort and effectiveness.
7. Provide technical coaching to less experienced testers on their work and review their
work for quality, completeness, and process compliance.
8. Work with other leads to plan and lead sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint demos,
and retrospectives.
9. Develop a strong technical skillset by undergoing appropriate training and courses and
attending relevant industry events.

Experience:
1. At least 8-10 years of hands-on experience in testing complex, rich, and highly interactive
web applications including frontend and backend testing.
2. Strong hands-on experience in setting up and maintaining automation framework for
frontend, backend testing, and App testing.
3. Strong experience working with tools like JIRA, Confluence.
4. Strong experience working in Agile Scrum teams and knowledge of frameworks like
Scrum
5. Familiarity with non-functional testing (load/performance/security, etc.)Skills
6. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, e.g., Jenkins or CircleCI.

Desired Skills:
1. Knowledge of software design fundamentals and architectural patterns applicable to the
project (client-server, layered architecture, microservices, etc.)
2. Strong hands-on testing skills based on your role in the project: functional testing,
backend / API testing, non-functional testing, test automation
3. Strong knowledge of appropriate testing tools/frameworks based on your role (e.g.
Selenium, Cypress, Postman, Appium, LoadRunner, JMeter etc.)
4. Strong knowledge of scripting /programming languages used e.g. Java, Python,
JavaScript
5. Excellent verbal, and written English communication skills as well as excellent
interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
6. Specializations like security testing, performance testing, etc. may require additional skills
and specific experience.
