About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Property and Assets team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of capital projects, maintenance programmes, refurbishment schemes and regeneration initiatives that directly benefit local communities.

You will lead on all aspects of cost management, procurement and contract administration across projects ranging from building maintenance and compliance works through to major capital developments. Working closely with project managers, consultants, contractors and senior stakeholders, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional quantity surveying services across a wide-ranging property portfolio.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, cash flow forecasts and financial reports.
• Lead procurement exercises and tender evaluations.
• Administer contracts including JCT and NEC forms of contract.
• Assess valuations, variations, claims and final accounts.
• Monitor project expenditure and report on financial performance.
• Identify and manage commercial risks.
• Provide strategic cost advice to project teams and senior management.
• Support the delivery of capital investment, compliance and maintenance programmes.
• Mentor and support junior surveyors and project staff where required.

About You

You will be an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong track record of delivering construction and property projects within either the public or private sector.

Essential Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• MRICS qualified or working towards chartership.
• Excellent IT skills.
• Significant experience in cost management and contract administration.
• Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
• Experience of procurement and tendering processes.
• Excellent financial and commercial management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant cost management systems.

Desirable

• Experience working in a local authority, housing association, NHS or other public sector organisation.
• Knowledge of public procurement regulations.
• Experience delivering major capital projects and regeneration programmes.
