Job Purpose |
|||
|
To lead and support the development, implementation, and monitoring of enterprise-wide risk management practices across capital and major projects within the PMO. The role ensures proactive identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting of project risks to support effective decision-making and improve project certainty and resilience.

|||
|
Key Accountabilities |
|||
|
§ Lead the implementation of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and tools for capital and major projects across the organization. |
|||
|
§ Facilitate risk identification and assessment workshops with project teams, consultants, and contractors. |
|||
|
§ Develop and maintain risk registers, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely updates of qualitative and quantitative risk data. |
|||
|
§ Perform qualitative and quantitative risk analysis (including Monte Carlo simulations) to evaluate schedule and cost impacts. |
|||
|
§ Support the integration of risk data into overall project control and performance reporting processes. |
|||
|
§ Track risk response actions and mitigation plans to ensure timely implementation and effectiveness. |
|||
|
§ Develop and prepare risk reports and dashboards for governance reviews, leadership reporting, and audits. |
|||
|
§ Collaborate with project managers, planners, cost controllers, and other stakeholders to embed risk awareness and practices into daily project execution. |
|||
|
§ Ensure alignment of project risk practices with corporate risk management policies and frameworks. |
|||
|
§ Contribute to lessons learned, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement in project risk practices. |
|||
|
§ Provide training, coaching, and guidance to project teams and junior risk analysts on risk tools and techniques. |
|||
|
§ Support stage gate reviews, assurance activities, and internal/external audits related to project risk management. |
|||
|
§ Facilitate risk workshops, training sessions, and awareness programs across the organization. |
|||
|
§ Design and implement risk mitigation strategies, policies, and procedures to reduce exposure to identified risks |
|||
|
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies |
|||
|
Minimum Qualifications: § Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. § Certification in Risk Management (e.g., PMI-RMP, MoR, or equivalent) is preferred. |
|||
|
Minimum Experience: · Minimum 10–12 years of progressive experience in risk management, preferably within the mining, energy, or heavy industrial sectors. · Proven experience in enterprise risk frameworks, operational risk, and project risk in large-scale industrial environments. § Experience working in multinational or complex matrix organizations is preferred. § Experience in conducting and leading risk assessments and using risk analysis tools such as @Risk, Primavera Risk Analysis, or similar. |

Skills: § Deep knowledge of ERM frameworks § Must have a thorough knowledge of process and engineering practices, design details, international Codes, Standards and Specifications § Ability to identify and mitigate risks throughout all project phases, from conceptual design to execution and commissioning. § Strong quantitative and qualitative risk analysis skills § Must have a practical understanding of safety and environmental fundamentals and application § Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to multi-task various assignments and consistently meet project deadlines with positive organizational outcomes § Proficiency in risk management tools and software (@Risk, Oracle Crystal Ball) § Knowledge of reading and using project control tools (Primavera, MS Project, MS Office, etc.) § Excellent report writing and presentation skills § Strong facilitation and training capabilities § Project management and cross-functional collaboration. |
