Why This Role Matters
The Lead Specialist, Category (Facility Management) develops and executes category strategies that secure safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective facility services across Maaden operations. The role translates business requirements into fit-for-purpose sourcing and contracting solutions, strengthens supplier performance, supports local content and sustainability objectives, and protects service continuity for critical workplaces and operating sites.
What You Will Deliver
• Develop and maintain Facility Management category strategies aligned with business requirements, demand plans, and corporate procurement objectives.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing for integrated and specialized facility services, including hard services, soft services, maintenance, cleaning, catering, landscaping, pest control, waste management, and related workplace services.
• Conduct market analysis, supplier benchmarking, demand analysis, and cost modelling to identify cost optimization, service improvement, consolidation, and innovation opportunities.
• Define sourcing plans, statements of work, service specifications, commercial evaluation models, negotiation strategies, award recommendations, and contract documentation in line with procurement governance.
• Negotiate pricing, service levels, performance mechanisms, contract terms, amendments, and change orders to optimize total cost and mitigate commercial, operational, compliance, and continuity risks.
• Partner with business units, site services, HSE, finance, legal, local content, and other stakeholders to validate requirements and implement sourcing decisions.Maaden
• Monitor supplier and contract performance against KPIs, SLAs, statutory requirements, HSE standards, and corrective-action plans.
• Embed local content, sustainability, energy efficiency, digitalization, and continuous-improvement criteria into tenders and supplier performance reviews.
• Maintain accurate sourcing records, savings tracking, risk registers, supplier performance data, and audit-ready documentation.

• Facility Management contracts are implemented on schedule and deliver measurable cost optimization, value, and service reliability.
• Facilities remain safe, compliant, operational, and fit for purpose through clearly defined scopes, performance standards, and supplier accountability.
• Service continuity and supplier risks are identified early and mitigated through effective contracting, contingency planning, and performance management.
• Stakeholders maintain clear alignment throughout sourcing, mobilization, transition, and contract-management activities.
• Supplier performance, local content contribution, sustainability outcomes, and improvement actions are tracked and reported through reliable governance.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
• Professional certification or membership such as CIPS, ISM, IFMA, IWFM, or an equivalent qualification is desirable.
Experience
• 10+ years of relevant experience in procurement, supply chain, category management, facilities management, or a related business function.
• At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing, commercial negotiation, contracting, and supplier management for Facility Management or general services categories.
• Experience supporting complex, multi-site industrial, mining, manufacturing, corporate, or project environments is preferred.
• Practical knowledge of Facility Management service models, cost drivers, scope development, mobilization, performance management, and continuous-improvement methods.
