Why This Role Matters

This role supports the design and governance of OT and control platform architecture by translating enterprise architecture standards into practical platform guidance. It helps ensure OT, control systems, data, AI, and core technology platforms are interoperable, scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture direction across complex industrial and asset-intensive environments.

What You Will Deliver

Enterprise Architecture Direction

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of enterprise architecture principles, platform standards, and reference architectures for OT and control platforms.
  • Translate enterprise architecture vision and roadmaps into actionable guidance for domain, platform, and solution architecture teams.
  • Support alignment of architectural designs across OT, data, AI, integration, cloud, and core systems with enterprise standards.
  • Provide practical architecture guidance that balances enterprise consistency with operational technology realities.

Architecture Alignment & Governance

  • Participate in architecture reviews and support design assurance for OT, control platform, and cross-domain technology solutions.
  • Identify risks related to fragmentation, duplication, unmanaged technical debt, and non-compliance with architecture standards.
  • Support governance decisions by documenting design options, trade-offs, constraints, risks, and recommended architecture patterns.
  • Escalate architecture risks and deviations where platform designs may impact scalability, resilience, security, or interoperability.

Cross-Domain Integration & Interoperability

  • Apply defined integration patterns and reference architectures across OT, control platforms, data platforms, AI solutions, and enterprise systems.
  • Support end-to-end interoperability across IT, OT, data, digital, and industrial control environments.
  • Collaborate with integration, data, platform, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and engineering teams to enable scalable and reusable solutions.
  • Promote reusable architecture patterns that reduce duplication and improve consistency across platforms and sites.

Domain and Platform Team Partnership

  • Work closely with domain architects, platform architects, solution architects, engineering teams, and delivery teams to support solution design.
  • Act as a coordination point between delivery teams and enterprise architecture governance for OT and control platform matters.
  • Support platform architecture decisions by clarifying requirements, dependencies, operational constraints, and implementation considerations.
  • Ensure solution designs are practical, technically coherent, and aligned with architecture standards and operating environment needs.

Architecture Documentation & Communication

  • Develop and maintain architecture artifacts, diagrams, reference patterns, standards, and design guidelines for OT and control platforms.
  • Document architectural decisions, dependencies, risks, constraints, and reusable design patterns for platform and solution teams.
  • Communicate architectural guidance, trade-offs, and constraints to technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and practical manner.
  • Support architecture knowledge sharing to improve consistency, adoption, and design quality across delivery teams.

What Success Looks Like

  • OT and control platform designs are aligned with enterprise architecture principles, standards, and reference architectures.
  • Architecture risks, duplications, unmanaged technical debt, and fragmentation are identified and escalated in a timely manner.
  • Reusable integration patterns improve interoperability across IT, OT, data, AI, and digital environments.
  • Architecture artifacts, diagrams, standards, and design decisions are maintained and communicated clearly.
  • Platform and solution teams receive practical guidance that supports scalable, secure, and reusable technology solutions.

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Industrial Systems, Automation, Control Systems, or a related discipline. Master’s Degree is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 8–12 years of experience in solution, domain, platform, or enterprise architecture roles within large-scale technology environments.
  • Experience supporting architecture design, governance, integration, and interoperability across OT, control systems, data platforms, cloud, and enterprise systems.
  • Exposure to industrial, mining, manufacturing, utilities, or asset-intensive environments is preferred.

Skills That Matter

  • Enterprise, platform, and solution architecture fundamentals across IT, OT, data, and digital domains
  • OT and control platform architecture, industrial systems, SCADA/DCS, historians, and automation environments
  • Architecture governance, standards enforcement, design assurance, and technical debt identification
  • Integration patterns, interoperability, reference architecture, and reusable solution design
  • Systems thinking and ability to assess cross-domain impacts across platforms and operations
  • Architecture documentation, diagrams, design guidelines, standards, and decision records
  • Collaboration with domain architects, platform architects, engineers, cybersecurity, data, and delivery teams
  • Clear communication of architecture decisions, trade-offs, constraints, and risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders
