Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially minded Accountant to join the pre-opening team at AC Hotel by Marriott Gold Coast. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values integrity and accuracy, and enjoys partnering with operational leaders to drive business performance.

Reporting to the Multi-Property Director of Finance, you will play a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of the hotel through accurate reporting, robust controls, and sound financial analysis. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.
• Support month-end and year-end reporting processes, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Monitor and analyze financial data, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Assist with accounts receivable activities, credit management, and revenue reporting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Support financial audits and internal control processes.
• Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and analysis to assist operational decision-making.
• Partner with department leaders to help manage budgets, expenses, and financial performance.
• Maintain strong financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate reporting.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and effectiveness across the finance function.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline; or
• Diploma/Associate Degree in Accounting or Finance with relevant accounting experience.
• Experience in hospitality, hotels, tourism, or a service-focused environment will be highly regarded.
• Working towards or holding a professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA or equivalent) is advantageous.
