The Carpenter x 1 is responsible for carrying out carpentry, maintenance, and repair work throughout the property to ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and well maintained. The role supports the Engineering Department by installing, repairing, and maintaining walls, partitions, doors, furniture, cabinetry, drywall, laminates, and other fixtures while delivering high-quality workmanship and supporting an exceptional guest experience.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Install, repair, and maintain doors, furniture, cabinetry, walls, partitions, and wooden fixtures.
- Perform drywall repairs, framing, laminates, wallpaper, molding, and finishing work.
- Complete minor maintenance tasks including wall patching, replacing light bulbs, and repairing fittings.
- Support preventive maintenance and refurbishment projects across the property.
- Respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
- Order and manage materials, supplies, and tools through approved purchasing processes.
- Receive, transport, and store materials and equipment as required.
- Maintain positive relationships with guests and associates.
- Minimize operational disruptions while completing maintenance work.
- Support Engineering and other departments to achieve operational objectives.
- Follow company safety, security, and maintenance procedures.
- Report hazards, accidents, and equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Ensure proper use and care of tools, equipment, and company assets.
- Maintain a professional appearance and comply with company standards.

~1 min read- Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification in Carpentry, Joinery, Building Construction, or a related trade.
- Minimum 2 years of carpentry, construction, or building maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of carpentry, drywall, framing, laminates, and finishing work.
- Experience in hospitality, commercial, or facilities maintenance environments is advantageous.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Must have the Working rights in Fiji
