We are seeking an accomplished Director of Human Resources to join the Executive Committee and play a pivotal role in shaping the culture, capability and future success of the resort.

About the Role

This is a highly influential leadership position responsible for overseeing the hotel's people strategy and ensuring it supports the business's long-term goals. Working closely with the General Manager and senior leadership team, you will create an environment where talent thrives, leaders are developed, and associates are empowered to deliver exceptional service.

As a strategic business partner, you will balance operational priorities with a forward-thinking approach to workforce planning, organizational effectiveness and employee engagement. Your ability to align people initiatives with business objectives will be instrumental in sustaining a high-performing culture across the resort.

JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Human Resources will report directly to the property General Manager, with a dotted-line (functional) reporting relationship to the Regional Senior Director of Human Resources and will be an integral member of the property executive committee. As a member of the Human Resources organization, he/she contributes a high level of human resource generalist knowledge and expertise for a designated property. He/she will be accountable for talent acquisition, succession/workforce planning, performance management and development for property employees, using technology efficiently, and coaching/developing others to help influence and execute business objectives in the most efficient manner. He/she generally works with considerable independence, developing processes to accomplish objectives in alignment with broader business objectives. Additionally, he/she utilizes a Human Resource Business Plan aligned with property and brand strategies to deliver HR services that enable business success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the overall Human Resources agenda, ensuring alignment with Marriott International and property objectives.
  • Advise and partner with the Executive Committee on organizational performance, workforce planning and leadership effectiveness.
  • Drive talent acquisition strategies that support both current operations and future growth.
  • Lead succession planning initiatives and strengthen leadership pipelines across the resort.
  • Foster an engaging workplace culture through meaningful employee development and recognition programs.
  • Oversee compensation and reward strategies, ensuring competitiveness and consistency.
  • Utilize people data and insights to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a key change leader, championing initiatives that enhance organizational capability and employee experience.
The Ideal Candidate

You are a credible and commercially aware Human Resources professional with a proven ability to influence at executive level. You build trusted relationships quickly, approach challenges with curiosity and pragmatism, and understand how strong people practices contribute to business success.

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related major; 4 years experience in the human resources, management operations, or related professional area.
  • 4-year bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years experience in the human resources, management operations, or related professional area.

Additionally, you will bring:

  • Experience within luxury hospitality, premium service environments or complex multi-department operations.
  • A strong background in talent management, employee relations and organizational development.
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and ownership groups.
  • Excellent coaching and leadership capabilities.
  • Sound commercial judgement and the ability to translate business needs into practical people solutions.
  • A passion for developing inclusive, high-performing teams.
