Lead the Hotel Overnight and Deliver Exceptional Guest Experiences

AC Hotel by Marriott Gold Coast is seeking an experienced, confident, and service-driven Night Manager to join our pre-opening team. This is a unique opportunity to help launch a new hotel, establish operational excellence from the ground up, and play a pivotal leadership role in ensuring seamless overnight operations while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

As Night Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all hotel operations during the overnight period, ensuring the safety, security, and satisfaction of guests while maintaining the highest service standards. You will act as the senior leader on property overnight, supporting Front Office operations, managing night audit processes, and ensuring the smooth running of the hotel after hours.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead Overnight Hotel Operations

• Oversee all aspects of hotel operations during the night shift, acting as the Manager on Duty.
• Lead and support overnight Front Office associates, ensuring exceptional guest service at all times.
• Coordinate with all departments to ensure seamless overnight operations and effective communication across teams.
• Manage overnight staffing, operational issues, and emergency situations with confidence and professionalism.
• Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards, hotel policies, and safety procedures.

Deliver Exceptional Guest Experiences

• Serve as the primary point of contact for guests during the overnight period.
• Handle guest enquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Resolve guest issues efficiently, ensuring positive outcomes and memorable experiences.
• Maintain a visible presence throughout the hotel, engaging with guests and monitoring service delivery.
• Foster a culture of hospitality excellence and empower associates to exceed guest expectations.

Drive Financial and Operational Excellence

• Complete and oversee all Night Audit functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
• Reconcile daily revenue, cashier reports, and financial transactions.
• Prepare and distribute daily operational and financial reports.
• Monitor overnight operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure cash handling procedures, audit requirements, and internal controls are consistently followed.

Ensure Safety and Security

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, associates, and visitors.
• Respond to emergency situations and incidents in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Conduct regular property inspections and monitor security systems.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards and legislative requirements.
• Liaise with security personnel and emergency services when required.

Support the Pre-Opening Journey

• Assist in developing overnight operational procedures, systems, and service standards ahead of opening.
• Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and training of Front Office associates.
• Support testing and implementation of hotel systems and technology.
• Contribute ideas and initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
• Help establish a positive service culture that reflects the AC Hotels brand from day one.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a Night Manager, Duty Manager, Front Office Supervisor, or similar hotel leadership role.
• Previous experience overseeing Night Audit and hotel overnight operations.
• Strong understanding of Front Office procedures, revenue reconciliation, and cash handling practices.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and financial accuracy.
• Experience managing guest concerns and emergency situations with professionalism and confidence.
• Knowledge of hotel property management systems; Opera Cloud experience is highly regarded.
• Previous Marriott experience is advantageous but not essential.
• A Diploma, Degree, or tertiary qualification in Hospitality, Business, Hotel Management, or a related discipline is highly regarded.
