GRADE
16\r\n\r\n\r\nThis position offers a salary range of $66,314 - $74,290/year, with potential for advancement up to $103,309 based on qualifications, equity, and hiring guidelines.� Initial salary offers are determined by qualifications, experience, and available budget, and typically do not exceed $74,290/year.�\r\n
LOCATION OF POSITION
7800 Harkins Road Lanham, MD 20706.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe Department of Housing and Community Development Headquarters is located in Prince George's County across from the New Carrollton Metro stop.\r\n
POSITION DUTIES
This role manages complex and evolving executive calendars, aligns scheduling with strategic priorities, and coordinates high-level meetings and engagements.� The position drafts and manages sensitive correspondence with the Governor’s Office, DHCD leadership, senior staff, and federal, state, and local officials, as well as external stakeholders. Serving as a key liaison for the Office of the Secretary, this role facilitates meetings, committees, and workgroups, and plays a critical role in ensuring leadership is prepared, informed, and positioned to make effective decisions. The ideal candidate exercises strong judgment, discretion, and initiative in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
\r\nEducation: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.�\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience: Four years of administrative staff or professional work.\r\n\r\n\r\nNotes:\r\n\r\n\r\n1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.\r\n\r\n\r\n2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.\r\n\r\n\r\n3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.\r\n\r\n\r\n4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for- year basis for the required experience.\r\n\r\n\r\n
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
\r\n\r\n\r\n Experience supporting senior executives,\r\n principals, or leadership teams for federal, state and local public officials\r\n and external stakeholders.\r\n Experience managing\r\n complex�calendars,�coordinating meetings across multiple stakeholders.\r\n Experience in independently drafting, revising,\r\n and formatting a range of professional written communications (e.g., emails,\r\n meeting agendas, memoranda, letters, and talking points) and tailoring\r\n messaging to audience and purpose to support effective business outcomes.� � � �\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r\n
