We do this by providing economic support, preventive services, and caring for children and adults.\r\n\r\n�\r\nWe aim to deliver services so that we more quickly meet the needs of the people we serve. We do this to ensure that in Maryland, we leave no one behind.�\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThis is a statewide recruitment for the Department of Human Services. The posting is open and continuous; we accept applications for this classification year round.�The resulting eligible lists will be used to fill current and future vacancies for this classification within DHS and its offices, located�in each of Maryland's counties and in Baltimore City. As positions become available, our Local Departments of Social Services throughout�the state will consider approved candidates from the eligible list of candidates.� � � �\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nPLEASE NOTE: The Baltimore City Department of Social Services has current vacancies in their Extended Hours program...Extended Hours program employee schedules�involve non-traditional working hours with ten hour shifts on weekdays and weekends,�working four days and being off three days each week.�Extended Hours program�employees receive additional salary for working non-traditional schedules.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Main Purpose of Job

A Family Services Caseworker Supervisor is the supervisory level of work providing direct services to individuals or families who are troubled. These services, provided by local departments of social services, are designed to enhance or restore the social, health, economic, behavioral and emotional functioning of customers. Employees in this classification supervise lower-level Family Services Caseworkers.\r\n

MINIMUM EDUCATION OR GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must meet all minimum qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Please read all requirements before applying.\r\nEDUCATION: A master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited college or university. (A master’s degree with the specific major title of “Social Work” is the only acceptable education qualification for this classification; there are no substitutions.) \r\nEXPERIENCE: Three years rendering casework or community organizational services to vulnerable children, individuals or families in a public or private social service agency. (Please describe in detail in your application any experience relating to the above job duties and describe the customers your agency serves.) \r\nNOTE: \r\n1. These requirements are established by the Social Services Administration by authority provided in Human Services Article, Title 4, Subtitle 2 - Section (c)(1) of the Annotated Code of Maryland...�\r\nThe Department of Budget and Management, Office of Personnel Services and Benefits�and the Department of Human Services Examination Services Unit�do not have the authority to accept substitutions or equivalents.\r\n

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

\r\n1. Employees in this classification must have a license as a Graduate Social�Worker�(on or before June 30, 2018), Master Social Worker (on or after July 1, 2018),�Certified Social Worker or Certified Social Worker-Clinical�for less than 18 months.\r\n\r\n\r\n2.Employees in this classification may be assigned duties that require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.\r\n\r\n\r\n

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Employees who have not already done so must complete an approved training program and pass a competency test before being granted permanent employment status. \r\n2. Employees are required to meet mandatory standards for continuing education as determined by the Department of Human Resources. Employees who fail to obtain the required continuing education credits shall be subject to disciplinary action including demotion, suspension and dismissal. \r\n3. Employees in this classification may be required to provide the employer with a telephone number at which they can be reached.\r\n

SELECTION PROCESS
