Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to provide non-emergency medical transportation for the Caroline County Health Department in a safe, professional, efficient and courteous manner.\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Six months of experience operating automotive vehicles transporting passengers, patients or clients. \r\n\r\n\r\nNote: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Vehicle Operations classifications or Motor Transport or Vehicle Operations specialty codes in the passenger transporting field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r\n
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should possess the following:\r\n\r\n\r\n Experience performing, recording, maintaining and submitting vehicle safety checks, operational logs and records\r\n Experience ensuring cleanliness, functionality and safety of a vehicle and its components\r\n Experience moving clients on wheelchair lifts into and out of the vehicle as well as positioning and securing patients and clients in vehicles\r\n\r\n\r\n
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Employees must possess or obtain a Class C non-commercial driver’s license valid in the State of Maryland. \r\n2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which involve the operation of large passenger vehicles. Employees assigned these duties will be required to possess a driver’s license of the appropriate class valid in the State of Maryland. \r\n3. Employees in this classification will be required to successfully complete and maintain current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, violence management and basic first aid training. \r\n
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Employees may be subject to call-in 24 hours a day and, therefore, may be required to provide the employer with a telephone number where they can be reached. \r\n2. Some positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the employee to operate a vehicle with a manual transmission. \r\n3. Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs. \r\n
