\r\n\r\nJoin Us in Making a Difference at DJS!�\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe\r\nMaryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) is dedicated to transforming\r\nyoung lives, creating safer communities, and fostering equitable systems.\r\nWe are seeking passionate individuals for the role of Registered Nurse, Charge, so come join our team and make a meaningful impact on youth and the\r\ncommunity at DJS!A Registered Nurse\r\nCharge is the lead level of work responsible for nursing care in a ward,\r\ncottage, or unit on an assigned shift at a State facility.�\r\n\r\n\r\nA Registered Nurse\r\nCharge Medical provides nursing care in a medical setting to the youth within\r\nthe guidelines of the Nurse Practice Act, DJS Standards, policy, and procedure.\r\nEmployees in this classification assign review, approve the work of, and train\r\nRegistered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and the non-licensed nursing or\r\nsupport staff assigned to the work area for a shift.\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:���Determined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Registered Nurses.\r\nExperience:�Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, one year of which must have been in the Medical option.\r\nNotes:\r\n1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field from an accredited college or university for the one year of general experience.\r\n2.�Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master’s degree in nursing or a health-related field from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience.\r\n3.�Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classifications or�Nursing and Hospital Administration specialty codes in the Nursing�field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r\n
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The preferred candidate for this position may possess any of the following:�\r\nExperience providing clinical services to an adolescent\r\npopulation with mental health or substance abuse issues.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1.�Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215 or possess a current multi-state license in party states that candidates have declared as primary states of residence.\r\n2.�Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile.� Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.\r\n3.�Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and maintain current certification. \r\n
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1.\r\nEmployees in this classification are subject to call-in and, therefore, will be\r\nrequired to provide the facility with a phone number at which they can be\r\nreached.\r\n2.\r\nEmployees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in\r\naccordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use\r\nof Drugs.\r\n
