Main Purpose of Job
The primary purpose of this position is to provide expertise in the area of discharge planning, specifically clinical and legal readiness for discharge, state processes and program expectations in order to assist the Social Worker in providing the most comprehensive and appropriate discharge plan possible. The position will provide clinical and administrative supervision to lower level staff Social Workers, collaborate with other professional staff to formulate appropriate care for mentally ill patients, provide supervision and administrative services within the Social Work Department, deliver clinical services to patients, participate in a ward treatment team that coordinates services to patients and serve as hospital liaison to families and community\r\nagencies.\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:� Determined by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners under the licensing requirements for Social Workers.\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience: Four years of experience rendering clinical social work services in a health care or treatment setting subsequent to the receipt of an approved Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.�\r\n\r\n\r\nNote:�Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a�commissioned officer in Social Work classifications or Social Work specialty codes in the Social Science, Psychology, and Welfare field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r\n\r\n
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should possess the following:\r\n\r\n\r\n Experience developing and/or coordinating internship programs at all levels of Social Work education (BSW, MSW) and Public Health.\r\n Experience supervising Social Work students and developing and maintaining practicum programs to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.\r\n Experience working with Google Suite/Workspace.\r\n\r\n\r\n
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Employees in this classification must have a license as a Master Social Worker (approved for independent practice), Certified Social Worker or Certified Social Worker-Clinical issued by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners.\r\n\r\n\r\n2.�Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess an appropriate operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r\n\r\n
