On-Site PMHNP - P/T

• →Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, and treatment plans for BHU/Med Surg patients. 
• →The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will develop individualized treatment plans, including medication management and therapy options  
• →Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure top-tier Psychiatric care for residents, including the Collaborating Psychiatrist, Mental Health Professionals, and HUB Coordinators.  
• →The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will prescribe and administer psychiatric medications as necessary  
• →Conduct daily rounds in one designated hospital, ensuring continuity of care and effective communication with the healthcare team. 
• →Respond promptly to consult requests from the Emergency Department and Inpatient units, offering expert psychiatric assessments and recommendations
• →Monitor and adjust medication regimens to optimize effectiveness and minimize side effects 
• →Implement therapeutic techniques to address a wide range of psychiatric conditions 
• →The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Offers education and support to residents and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options 
• →Promote mental health awareness and wellness among residents 
• →Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards 
• →Ensure timely and thorough documentation of all assessments and interventions 
• →The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance mental health care services within the facility 
• →Collaborate with the healthcare team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes 
• →Participate in one weekend shift per month and additional on-call shifts as needed, providing emergency psychiatric care and consultation

Qualifications: 

• →Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health
• →Current and unrestricted PMHNP license in TX
• →Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
• →Minimum of 1-year clinical experience as a PMHNP, preferably in a hospital or acute care setting (preferred)
• →Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment  
• →Active and unrestricted DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) in TX
• →Excellent communication and interpersonal skills  
• →Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
