About the Role
~1 min readAs the Space Systems Program Director at NordSpace, you will lead NordSpace Phase 2 and 3 space systems go-to-market strategy, ranging from satellite development for external customers to the NordSpace internal space systems application layer.
Responsibilities
~1 min readOwn product vision, strategy and roadmap for satellite systems and space hardware/software, working hands-on with customers, partners and engineering to take products from concept to market and through their full lifecycle.
- →Drive product vision, strategy and roadmap for satellite systems and space-related hardware/software, aligning business goals with commercial and government/defence customer needs and technological feasibility
- →Lead an agile product development approach with rapid cycles of prototyping, testing and iteration to validate features and accelerate delivery
- →Engage directly with customers, prospects, partners and internal engineering teams to capture market opportunities and user requirements, and translate feedback and market insights into prioritized product requirements and backlogs
- →Monitor the competitive landscape and emerging space technologies, and prepare business cases, budget forecasts and pricing strategy support
- →Facilitate go-to-market strategies and sales enablement through targeted messaging, technical content and customer engagement, and lead proposals and bid submissions to relevant RFPs
- →Support commercial teams at customer meetings and trade shows as the product subject matter expert, and represent NordSpace at industry forums
- →Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, sales and marketing, customer operations, regulatory affairs and finance
- →Manage the product lifecycle post-launch, tracking KPIs, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Business or related
- 5+ years professional experience in space systems or satellite product management, ground segment software or related aerospace domains
- Expertise in agile product development including sprint planning, backlog management and iterative delivery
- Strong understanding of satellite systems, space mission operations, ground segment infrastructure or satellite communication networks
- Proven ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear product specifications and user stories
- Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams across engineering, marketing, sales and customer support
- Business-oriented mindset with skills in market assessment, business case development and P&L contribution
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience representing products publicly and supporting customer-facing events
- Results-oriented and thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Full-time in-person at Markham, Ontario or St. John's, Newfoundland, with occasional travel to Ottawa and St. Lawrence, Newfoundland
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Familiarity with space industry standards, regulatory environments and export compliance
- Prior experience at satellite constellation operators (Starlink, Amazon Kuiper, Kepler Communications) or space technology startups
