Job Description:
There are few roles where your expertise in security strategy, operational governance, and executive protection directly shapes the safety of a firm's most senior leaders and highest-visibility events on a global scale. At JPMorganChase, we're looking for a strategic, mission-driven professional who brings both operational depth and program leadership excellence to one of the most consequential security roles in financial services.

As a Strategy, Preparedness and Governance Executive Director at JPMorganChase within the Executive Security and Global Major Events team, you will help deliver unified, intelligence-led protection for firm leadership, high-visibility events, and key clients across the full program lifecycle—from design-basis threat definition and layered control design through periodic testing and assessments. Based in New York City and reporting to the Head of Executive Security, you will partner across Global Security and a broad set of stakeholders spanning strategy, intelligence, threat management, crisis management, and campus security to shape the program's operating model and drive alignment on priorities, resourcing, and execution across domestic and international activity. This is a high-impact, high-trust role that demands sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead program strategy, planning, budgeting support, and project management, delivering clear stakeholder reporting and measurable outcomes that keep the program mission-ready and right-sized
  • Evolve the global operating model for executive security and major events, including design-basis threat definition, layered controls, and periodic testing and assessments to ensure continuous program readiness
  • Build and sustain strong partnerships across lines of business, corporate functions, and Global Security teams to align priorities, resourcing, and consistent execution across domestic and international activity
  • Define and manage operating and quality metrics—including readiness, coverage delivery, incident management, vendor performance, and adherence to standards—to drive consistency and measurable performance improvement
  • Drive continuous improvement by refining processes, identifying operational risks, and strengthening controls to support auditable, high-integrity operations
  • Support a discreet and effective protective posture for firm leadership by ensuring plans, standards, and measures optimize safety and privacy across all environments
  • Advance technology enablement by partnering with technical teams to identify enhancements, support implementation and adoption, and measure operational impact
  • Lead working sessions and stakeholder forums with clear, discreet communication, and deliver concise briefings on operational issues and incidents informed by reporting and threat assessments
  • Complete required training and provide feedback to keep procedures and policies current and aligned to industry best practices
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • Formal training or certification on Strategy, Preparedness and Governance concepts and 10+ years applied experience in security, military, or law enforcement roles, including prior law enforcement experience with a demonstrated track record in protective, investigative, or high-risk operational environments
  • Experience in executive security and major-events operations, including risk assessment, incident management, crisis and contingency planning, layered controls, and operating in highly controlled or regulated environments
  • Experience designing and leading preparedness programs—including tabletop exercises, crisis simulations, and business-continuity integration—for executive protection or major events
  • Strong program, project, and operating-model leadership, including process design, operating rhythms, performance reporting, and delivery of measurable outcomes across cross-functional initiatives
  • Proven ability to influence and advise senior and executive-level stakeholders across lines of business and corporate functions, aligning priorities, resourcing, and execution through clear, executive-ready communication including working sessions, briefings, and written materials
  • Sound judgment and composed communication under pressure, with the ability to prioritize competing demands, meet tight deadlines, and operate in a fast-paced environment including on-call support as required
  • Ability to translate security and technology concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences, clearly articulating needs, trade-offs, and value at an executive level
  • Eligible to work in the United States and able to pass a comprehensive background check, including compliance with the Lautenberg Amendment . Holds a valid U.S. driver's license and is able to obtain and maintain international travel documents such as a U.S. passport or equivalent
  • Meets the eligibility requirements of the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (HR-218)
  • Holds, or is eligible to obtain, a current New York State Armed Guard License and a New York City Unrestricted Concealed Carry Handgun License
  • Physically fit for operational environments, including extended standing and walking and the ability to lift up to 60 pounds as needed
