Responsibilities
~1 min readAs the Executive Sous Chef, you will serve as the Executive Chef's trusted partner and second-in-command, helping to lead the daily operations of our culinary department. You will:
- →Assist in overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, presentation, and service.
- →Help develop creative, nutritious menus that meet residents' dietary needs and preferences.
- →Lead food preparation, production, and quality control efforts.
- →Support inventory management, purchasing, and cost-control initiatives.
- →Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- →Recruit, train, coach, and mentor culinary team members.
- →Foster a positive, collaborative workplace culture focused on excellence and engagement.
- →Coordinate special events, catering functions, and community celebrations.
- →Step into a leadership role and oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef.
- →Participate in resident satisfaction initiatives and continuously seek opportunities to elevate the dining experience.
Requirements
~1 min read- Culinary Arts degree or equivalent professional culinary certification.
- Minimum of three years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a comparable culinary leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of menu planning, food production, inventory management, and cost control.
- ServSafe Certification required
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and inspire teams.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- A passion for hospitality and serving older adults.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Experience in senior living, hospitality, healthcare, country club, hotel, or resort dining environments.
- Advanced culinary training or specialized certifications.
- Experience leading large-scale dining operations and special events.
