Senior Data Engineer

Nexaminds is actively looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our growing engineering team.

Qualifications we are looking for:

• 5+ years of experience as Data Engineer.
• Hands-on experience with Debezium for change data capture
• Hands-on experience with Kafka and/or Azure Event Hubs for data streaming
• Proven experience building and operating CDC pipelines in production
• Comfortable working across a large, complex data estate — hundreds of databases and thousands of tables
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills
• Experience troubleshooting data pipeline issues: schema drift, replication lag, backpressure, failure recovery
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

• Design, build, and operate CDC pipelines using Debezium to capture changes from source databases
• Stream and route data through Kafka and/or Azure Event Hubs, ensuring reliability and low latency
• Operate and scale pipelines across hundreds of source databases and thousands of tables
• Ingest and model streamed data in Databricks, using Lakeflow CDC or comparable tooling
• Monitor pipeline health, troubleshoot data drift, schema changes, and replication lag
• Partner with backend and data teams to define schemas, SLAs, and data quality standards
• Document pipeline architecture and operational runbooks

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with Databricks, especially Lakeflow CDC or comparable managed CDC/ingestion tooling
• Experience with Azure data services (Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Event Hubs)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD for data pipelines
• Background in observability/monitoring for data platforms
• Prior experience working on client-facing engagements or staff augmentation tea
