The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking a Senior Coordinator, Conservation, to manage processes, systems, procedures and projects that enable the strategic preservation and care of the NGV Collection by the Conservation team.
About the Role
~2 min readYou will be working closely with the Associate Director, Conservation, in contributing to the development of conservation systems, procedures and practices that enhance the preservation, storage, transport, display and management of the NGV Collection. Other key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Associate Director, Conservation with diary management, meeting agendas and papers, project and budget planning and financial reconciliation.
- Working collaboratively across teams to support conservation requirements for collection displays, temporary exhibitions, acquisitions, loans and collection management projects, and contributing to scheduling and workflows.
- Undertaking research and preparing high-quality written materials, including preparing submissions for the annual report and Creative Victoria, Director’s and Trustees papers and compelling presentations, proposals and reports related to fundraising activities.
- Employing high-quality writing and research for a variety of possible outputs that share information to raise awareness of and actively promote the work of the Conservation team, including presentations, proposals and reports, social media, e-communications, NGV Magazine, publications, and Audience Engagement and Learning initiatives.
To be successful, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification coupled with demonstrated experience in providing project, administrative and operational support, including coordination of activities, maintenance of records, budget monitoring and stakeholder liaison within a high-profile cultural organisation.
You are able to deal with concepts and complexity comfortably, use analytical and conceptual skills to reason through problems and analyse issues from different perspectives. You plan, prioritise and review work based on what is important to achieve, identify or develop overall team goals and link strategies and actions required to achieve these goals.
Knowledge and/or interest in art history, art trends and art museum practices is an advantage.
