Our progressive Architecture Team seeks a talented Healthcare Principal Architect to help lead and grow our Healthcare practice throughout Texas. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor, market leader, and principal-level resource for clients, project teams, and firm leadership. The ideal candidate brings a combination of healthcare design expertise, client relationship management, business development success, and project leadership, along with a passion for creating environments that positively impact patient care and community health.

Whether supporting a medical office building, outpatient facility, behavioral health center, academic medical project, or hospital expansion, this individual will help shape the future of our Healthcare practice while mentoring the next generation of architects and designers.

• Serve as the Healthcare Principal-in-Charge for healthcare projects throughout the region.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare systems, providers, administrators, facilities leaders, and industry partners.
• Lead business development efforts, including client engagement, pursuit strategies, interviews, presentations, and market expansion initiatives.
• Provide strategic guidance and architectural leadership throughout all phases of healthcare project delivery, from planning and programming through construction completion.
• Collaborate with healthcare planners, architects, engineers, interior designers, and consultants to develop innovative, patient-centered design solutions.
• Mentor and develop project managers, architects, designers, and technical staff while fostering a culture of design excellence and professional growth.
• Oversee project financial performance, staffing, resource planning, risk management, and quality control efforts.
• Guide project teams through complex healthcare regulations, licensing requirements, operational challenges, and client objectives.
• Contribute to firmwide strategic planning and help identify new opportunities for growth within the healthcare market.
• Support integrated collaboration between architecture, engineering, and interior design teams across all O'Connell Robertson offices.

• Registered Architect; license required; Texas licensure preferred.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
• 15+ years of progressive architectural experience, including significant leadership responsibilities on healthcare projects.
• Demonstrated success leading healthcare projects ranging from outpatient facilities and MOBs to hospitals, behavioral health facilities, specialty care environments, and healthcare campuses.
• Strong understanding of healthcare planning, operational workflows, patient experience, regulatory compliance, and healthcare facility design standards.
• Proven track record of client relationship management, business development, and successful project pursuits.
• Experience managing large, multidisciplinary project teams while mentoring and developing staff.
• Strong knowledge of project financial management, staffing, scheduling, contracts, and consultant coordination.
• Experience serving as Principal-in-Charge, Project Executive, Senior Project Manager, or Healthcare Practice Leader.
• Working knowledge of healthcare facility requirements, codes, guidelines, and licensing standards.
• Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills with the ability to engage executive-level healthcare clients.
• Experience with planning, design, construction documentation, construction administration, and quality assurance processes.
• Knowledge of sustainability strategies, healthcare planning principles, Revit, Bluebeam, Newforma, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
• Passion for building long-term client relationships, growing market presence, and delivering exceptional healthcare environments that improve patient outcomes.
