Network Engineer III

  Configure and support logical circuit connections across backbone to customer sites and regions such as Megaport, PacketFabric, ExpressRoute (Azure), DirectConnect (AWS), etc. 

• →

  Manage and maintain all data center and Colocation core and distro connectivity all the way down to the access level 

• →

  Manage all Networking/Security monitoring platforms and ensure adherence to customer and infrastructure SLA uptimes 

• →

  Utilize approved tools to verify and take required action on events aggregated from network monitoring tools and Web Application Firewall 

• →

  Troubleshoot and resolve sometimes complex network connectivity issues, adding/modifying NAT entries and firewall rules and initiating routes to enable connectivity 

• →

  Participate in occasional customer-facing projects involving design, diagrams, documentation, and implementation 

• →

  Execute new customer deployments involving NSX, security configurations, VMware Cloud Director network configurations, etc. 

• →

  Manage and maintain all data center and regional capacity on physical and logical circuit technologies supporting our public and private cloud infrastructure 

• →

  Manage, maintain, and improve the Opti9Tech SDWAN and VMware NSX (V/T) SDN infrastructure supporting customer and infrastructure workloads 

• →

  Regularly map and document customer and infrastructure diagrams to current and accurate versions 

• →

  Design and implement automation strategies that improve or co-exist with current automation infrastructure 

• →

  Mature our automation strategy using Python, Nautobot, Ansible, and other automation tie-ins 

• 6+ years related experience in infrastructure/network environments and designing, planning, documenting and implementing LANs and WANs using latest technology 

• 6+ years related experience with Cisco or Arista routing/switching/firewall products including IOS-XE, IOS-XR, and NX-OS service provider level infrastructure 

• Proficiency in Python, Ansible, or similar automation technology 

• Extensive experience with Cisco/Arista Spine & Leaf Data Center deployments 

• Extensive experience with VMware vSphere, NSX-V & NSX-T SDN technologies 

• VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) experience a plus 

• Expertise on IP Technologies and extensive knowledge of WAN technologies including both MPLS, SD-WAN, DWDM, etc. 

• Extensive experience and expertise on IP routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP 

• Advanced understanding of TCP/IP network protocols, including common application protocols 

• Proficiency with monitoring platforms such as Netmon, Solarwinds, Icinga, etc. 

• Knowledge of SASE platforms such as Zscaler, Perimeter 81, etc. 

• Proficiency in Fortinet and Palo Alto UTM next gen firewall technologies 

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with both local and remote staff, teammates, and managers 

• Willingness to occasionally adjust work schedule to meet business needs (standard is 40-hour week, with occasional after hours and weekend requirements in an on-call fashion) 

• Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to multi-task, change direction, effectively prioritize, and meet deadlines 

• Proficiency in effectively communicating complex technical concepts in English, both verbally and in writing, to a variety of audiences 

• Experience in high-availability networks in load-balanced, n-tier application environments. 

• Highly effective in documentation and diagram creation for customer and infrastructure needs 

• Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills 

• Working knowledge of data security best practices
