The Factory Workplace Endpoint Architect is responsible for the architecture, standards, and technology roadmap for workplace devices operating within manufacturing plants, warehouses, logistics operations, and shopfloor environments.

The role owns the architectural direction of Windows LTSC endpoints, Ivanti-based endpoint management services, SOTI-managed mobile devices, software deployment standards, patch governance, device security baselines, and workplace lifecycle management. The architect acts as the technical authority for all factory workplace solutions and ensures secure, reliable, and operationally stable endpoint services across industrial environments.

Architecture Governance

• Act as Design Authority for Factory Workplace technologies.
• Lead technical reviews and architecture assessments.
• Evaluate new technologies supporting manufacturing workplace services.
• Develop 3-5 year technology roadmaps.
• Approve exceptions to workplace architecture standards.
• Participate in Enterprise Architecture Review Boards.

Ivanti Architecture & Endpoint Management

• Define architectural standards for Ivanti Endpoint Manager infrastructure.
• Govern endpoint discovery, inventory, software distribution, operating system deployment, and endpoint configuration management.
• Design and maintain software packaging and deployment standards.
• Define patch management architecture, deployment rings, maintenance windows, rollback mechanisms, and compliance reporting requirements.
• Establish architecture standards for:
  • Endpoint provisioning
  • Software deployment
  • Vulnerability remediation
  • Configuration management
  • Endpoint compliance
• Review architectural changes impacting Ivanti Core Servers, Distribution Servers, and endpoint agents.

• Lead roadmap planning for Ivanti platform modernization and automation initiatives.

   

  SOTI Mobility Architecture

• Define enterprise architecture standards for SOTI MobiControl environments.
• Govern onboarding and lifecycle management of rugged devices and industrial mobility solutions.
• Define architecture patterns for:
  • Zebra devices
  • Honeywell scanners
  • Android Enterprise deployments
  • Rugged mobile devices
  • Warehouse handheld terminals
• Design application deployment and update strategies through SOTI.
• Establish compliance, enrollment, and security policies for industrial mobility environments.

• Define device replacement, recovery, and break-fix architecture patterns.

   

  Security & Compliance Architecture

• Define endpoint hardening standards for factory workplace devices.
• Govern application control, local administrator access, endpoint privileges, and security baselines.
• Partner with Cyber Security teams on:
  • Vulnerability management
  • Endpoint remediation strategy
  • Security exception handling
  • Compliance enforcement

• Ensure manufacturing endpoints meet enterprise security requirements without impacting operational continuity.

   

  Factory Device Lifecycle Management

• Define standards for:
  • Device onboarding
  • Device replacement
  • End-of-life management
  • Asset refresh planning

• Establish lifecycle strategy for:

  • Shared manufacturing devices
  • Warehouse terminals
  • Kiosks
  • Industrial workstations
  • Rugged mobility devices

   

    Technical Requirements

• Strong expertise in Ivanti Endpoint Manager, including endpoint discovery, software distribution, OS deployment, patch management, endpoint configuration, automation, and preferably Ivanti Neurons.
• Deep knowledge of Windows LTSC and Windows Embedded platforms, including image engineering, kiosk/shared device architectures, device lockdown, and application compatibility management.
• Proven experience with SOTI MobiControl and industrial mobility solutions, managing rugged Android devices, Zebra handhelds, Honeywell scanners, and warehouse mobility platforms.
• Strong understanding of endpoint security and compliance, including endpoint hardening, patch governance, vulnerability remediation, application whitelisting, Microsoft Defender integration, and compliance controls.
• Experience in software packaging and deployment engineering, including MSI/EXE packaging, driver management, operating system imaging, and release lifecycle governance.
• Hands-on expertise in automation and scripting, including PowerShell, batch scripting, endpoint automation, and operational efficiency improvements.

• Ability to design and govern large-scale endpoint solutions within manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, and business-critical industrial environments, ensuring stability, security, and operational continuity.

   

  Experience

• 10-15 years of experience in Enterprise End User Computing or Endpoint Management.
• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting manufacturing or industrial workplace environments.
• Experience designing large-scale Windows LTSC environments.
• Extensive experience with Ivanti Endpoint Manager architecture and administration.
• Strong experience with SOTI and rugged mobility platforms.
• Experience governing workplace services in highly regulated or operationally critical environments.
