About Role We are seeking a Government and Regulatory Affairs Manager to act as the primary liaison with government bodies and regulatory agencies in Ghana. The role ensures compliant operations across manufacturing, trade, and logistics, covering customs, licensing, environmental, and labor matters. The ideal candidate is well‑networked in the public sector and able to represent the organization effectively with officials at all levels. Key Responsibilities Regulatory & Institutional Liaison Serve as the company's primary liaison with relevant government ministries, departments, and agencies — including but not limited to Ghana Revenue Authority/Customs, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Environmental Protection Agency, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Minerals Commission, and local municipal/district authorities Build and maintain professional, transparent working relationships with relevant officials to support timely and predictable processing of company matters Represent the company at industry association meetings, government consultations, and relevant public-sector forums Permits, Licensing & Compliance Manage end-to-end coordination of permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals required for company operations (import/export permits, environmental permits, factory licenses, etc.) Track regulatory deadlines and renewal requirements, working closely with the compliance team Prepare and coordinate formal submissions, applications, and correspondence to government bodies Trade Facilitation Support the commercial and logistics teams on customs-related matters, including import documentation and duty/tariff queries Help resolve operational bottlenecks at ports, customs, and other regulatory checkpoints through proper institutional channels Policy Monitoring & Advisory Monitor relevant policy, legal, and regulatory developments (trade policy, industrial policy, tax changes, local content requirements, etc.) that may affect the business Brief senior management on regulatory risks and opportunities Represent company interests in industry body discussions on policy matters affecting the steel sector Stakeholder & Community Relations Support engagement with local community leaders and district authorities near company operations Assist management in navigating formal protocol for government visits, inspections, and official engagements. Requirements Minimum 5–8 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, regulatory compliance, or a related field — prior experience in a corporate, industrial, or trade-focused role strongly preferred Strong existing network and credibility within Ghana's public sector institutions Prior experience working with or within government ministries, regulatory bodies, or industry associations is a strong advantage Excellent understanding of Ghanaian administrative and regulatory processes (customs, trade, environmental, labor) High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity — this role requires representing the company's reputation in sensitive settings Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare formal correspondence and submissions Law, public administration, political science, or business background preferred but not mandatory given strong relevant experience
