H&K Electric, Inc. is seeking an experienced Texas Journeyman Electrician to join our Service Department based out of our Grand Prairie location. This position primarily serves commercial customers, along with select industrial customers, throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced electrician who enjoys troubleshooting, solving problems in the field, and working independently. We are looking for someone who is dependable, professional, safety-minded, and confident interacting directly with customers.

As a Service Journeyman Electrician, you will diagnose and repair electrical issues, troubleshoot lighting and control systems, perform commercial service calls, and ensure every job is completed safely and to H&K Electric's standards.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial electrical systems
Troubleshoot and repair lighting and lighting control systems
Diagnose electrical circuits and identify electrical problems
Install, repair, and replace electrical components and equipment
Bend and install conduit
Perform commercial electrical service calls throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex
Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications
Ensure work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes, including the NEC
Work independently and make sound decisions in the field
Communicate professionally with customers regarding electrical issues, recommended repairs, and job status
Coordinate with the Service Department, project managers, customers, and other trades as needed
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude while representing H&K Electric
Properly maintain company tools, equipment, and assigned service vehicle
Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures
Complete required service documentation accurately and communicate job information to the Service Department

Required Qualifications

Current Texas Journeyman Electrician License
Commercial electrical experience
Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair experience
Experience troubleshooting lighting, lighting controls, circuits, and electrical systems
Ability to bend and install conduit
Ability to install, repair, and replace a wide range of electrical components and systems
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
Strong understanding of electrical codes and safe work practices
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Strong communication and customer-service skills
Dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform the physical requirements of commercial electrical work
Ability to pass a background check
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
Must join the IBEW Union

Preferred Qualifications

Industrial electrical experience
Previous electrical service experience
Experience working directly with commercial and industrial customers
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
Experience with lighting controls, motor controls, and commercial electrical equipment
Strong conduit-bending experience, including EMT, RMC, and PVC
