About us
Panyathip Group has businesses operating across education, retail, printing and business services: Panyathip British International School (PBIS) and St Hugh's College Vientiane (SH), alongside other businesses in Laos. We are growing, and we want to improve how our schools and businesses work every day.
Purpose of the role
Support the executive in analysing business challenges, improving processes and implementing practical organisational change across education and related businesses. This is a hands-on development role combining junior business analysis, project coordination and change support. It is not a senior transformation management position or a general personal assistant role.
Key responsibilities
A. Business analysis & process improvement (25%)
- Meet staff and document existing workflows, recurring problems, requirements and operational constraints
- Prepare process maps, gap analyses, SOP drafts, checklists and proposed improvements for management approval
- Collect and check basic operational and financial data; use Excel to prepare comparisons, summaries and preliminary recommendations
- Help managers establish practical measures and simple dashboards; confirm data with the responsible owners
B. Change management & digital adoption (20%)
- Identify affected users, practical obstacles and support needs when procedures or systems change
- Draft clear communications, bilingual user guides where needed, FAQs, training materials and adoption checklists
- Coordinate introductory training, collect feedback and track agreed follow-up actions
- Support implementation alongside system owners, IT staff and managers, without taking technical or departmental ownership
C. Project coordination & implementation follow-up (25%)
- Maintain a central register of approved projects showing owners, milestones, deadlines, dependencies, risks and next steps
- Follow up respectfully with department heads, staff and suppliers on agreed actions; record delays and escalate issues to the Group Director
- Prepare agendas, meeting notes, decision logs and concise weekly progress reports.
- Initially coordinate no more than two or three major active assignments, unless the Group Director reprioritises workload
- Support assigned school, campus, systems and commercial improvement projects without replacing the accountable project owner
D. Research, reporting & documentation (20%)
- Research suppliers, software, operating practices and service options relevant to assigned projects
- Prepare concise comparisons with key costs, benefits, limitations, assumptions and recommendations
- Produce management presentations, briefing papers, simple reports and well-organised shared documentation
- Check source data and distinguish verified facts from estimates or assumptions
E. Executive coordination (10%)
- Organise selected work meetings, prepare briefing notes, maintain action logs and follow up on commitments.
- Draft routine internal or external correspondence for review and approval.
- Assist with selected document management, scheduling and visits linked to assigned projects. High-volume calendar administration, personal errands and routine travel arrangements are not core duties.
Essential qualifications, skills & attributes
- Bachelor's degree in business, management, economics, information systems or a related field equivalent demonstrated capability may be considered.
- 0–3 years of relevant experience in operations, projects, administration, analysis or consulting; strong recent graduates and relevant internships are welcome
- Fluent Lao and working English, sufficient for meetings, routine emails and reports; strong English writing is an advantage
- Practical Word, PowerPoint and intermediate Excel skills; willingness to learn pivot tables, lookups, dashboards and process mapping
- Ability to organise information, distinguish facts from opinions and present recommendations clearly.
- Diplomatic communication with colleagues at different seniority levels; reliability in following up without direct authority
- Comfortable learning cloud systems and approved generative AI tools, with human verification and strict confidentiality
- Curiosity, initiative, discretion, attention to detail and willingness to receive coaching
Advantageous: exposure to education, a multi-business group, hospitality, retail, manufacturing/printing, consulting or digital system rollouts.
