ExecutiveChief Executive Officer

We are all social creatures, but the dominant “social” companies today have evolved into digital loneliness machines, driving isolation, anxiety, and mental health challenges around the world.

Human connection is lost. Posh is a beacon guiding us back.

Posh enables anyone to build an IRL community based on shared interests, while connecting consumers with the communities of people just like them. Founded by event organizers who were frustrated with the growing loneliness epidemic and the tools available to build their own event brand, we’ve built the ultimate platform for launching, monetizing, and finding IRL communities of people just like you. In just 6 years, Posh has grown to a team of 70, expanded to 10M+ users, secured $70m in venture funding, and facilitated over $400M in transactions.

About the Role

~1 min read

Posh is hiring a GM, Experiences to stand up and own our experiential arm. Creating and executing against a multi-faceted roadmap, this role will curate several live spaces and experiences, maximizing Posh brand awareness among consumers across the US and beyond.

Posh is oriented around a simple goal: become the first place anyone thinks of when they want to be social. In the product, that means discovery surfaces that provide curated event recommendations. The experiential arm will be an extension of our product, providing an example for our organizers to follow and a perk for our consumers.

You will own two P&Ls and a multi-million dollar annual budget:

Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • Define what Experiences is, what it stands for, and what it will never do — the brand, the standard, and the guardrails

  • Build a clear 2-year roadmap that sequences venue programming, marquee events, and weekly recurring experiences into one coherent calendar

  • Own the full P&L: budget, forecast, unit economics by format, and an explicit path from break-even to profit

  • Hire and manage the team, plus the bench of production companies, talent, and vendors required to operate at scale

  • Combine your own network and resources with Posh’s resources (from our relationships to our internal teams) to create the operating strategy necessary to run Experiences as efficiently as possible

  • Build the infrastructure and playbooks that let a second market run without you in the room

  • Get the venue to monthly break-even in year 1, managing the P&L, optimizing the calendar with both public and private experiences, and collaborate with our operating partners who will handle staffing, vendors, and liquor supply, so your focus can stay on what happens in the room and what it earns

  • Collaborate with the organizer community team to offer the space as an exclusive perk for our top organizers

  • Collaborate with marketing and product to host Posh-exclusive experiences — free entry, free drinks — for our most retentive consumers

  • Treat the venue as a prototype: document what works, what it costs, and what it would take to run this concept in other markets

  • Program and execute monthly marquee events at multi-thousand-attendee scale: block parties, food festivals, and community-oriented consumer events

  • Build a portfolio of smaller weekly recurring experiences for distinct communities, designed so the same people come back, meet people like them, and build relationships over time

  • Own ticket revenue and CAC: pricing, sell-through, and the full marketing funnel

  • Use experiences as a tangible perk for our highest-retention consumers and as proof to the market that Posh knows what a great experience consists of

  • Manage permitting, security, insurance, city relationships, and contingency planning for large-format events

You’re an operator with taste who can create a unique, memorable experience that’s also highly efficient from a business standpoint. You likely have:

  • 8+ years in experiential, events, hospitality, or nightlife, with several years owning a P&L

  • Direct experience running an events business or portfolio doing millions of dollars in annual revenue — you can walk us through the revenue, expenses, margin, and what you changed to improve it

  • Experiential and branded event experience: you’ve built activations for brands that people were still talking about months later

  • Large-format experience — multi-thousand-attendee events, with the permitting, security, production, and weather contingency that comes with it

  • Managed multi-million dollar budgets with real accountability to forecasted projections

  • Hired, trained, and led teams, plus a bench of contractors and vendors you can activate on short notice

  • A New York network worth something: talent, DJs, chefs, venues, production partners, brand partners, etc.

  • A data-driven bias — you track cost per attendee, contribution margin, repeat rate, sell-through, etc. — while keeping the room feeling like a room and not a spreadsheet

  • Comfort in ambiguity and a preference/excitement for owning projects from 0 to 1, while making them scalable for an eventual handoff

Bonus points if you have:

  • Owned and/or expanded a venue concept

  • Food & beverage or hospitality P&L experience, including familiarity with NYC licensing, permitting, and city agencies

  • Sold sponsorships or brand partnerships as a revenue line

  • Talent buying or artist booking experience

  • Worked at a consumer marketplace, app, or brand where IRL was a genuine growth and retention channel
