  • Process the incoming work request through to completion such as receiving, reviewing, approval, estimating and closing for functioning & maintenance of equipment/system/buildings / facilities and complete the information for required materials, man hours, and skill levels.
  • Allocate work to subordinates & contractors, provide needed instructions, monitor work progress, and ensure that work conforms to established work standards and statutory requirements.
  • Provide regular feedback to Maintenance Engineer, and generate required reports and paperwork, such as repairs reports, daily & monthly activity reports, equipment failure reports, incidents and accidents reports.
  • Troubleshoot and analyse technical failures and recommend measures to mitigate recurring problems & Maintain records and files of work performed, in progress, and completed.
  • Collaborate with Facility Engineers and contractors on the planning and commissioning of new projects.
  • Assist the Maintenance Engineer in developing and implementing Operational / Functional and preventive maintenance programs & procedures to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Carry out scheduled routine and preventive maintenance, participate in installation activities, provide technical advice to subordinates, ensure the proper use of tools and test equipment, and help carry out function tests on repairs prior to reinstating systems.
  • Help with commissioning of new systems, carry out functionality tests, prepare the snag lists, attend to snag list for the successful commissioning and smooth handover of new systems/ facilities.
  • Inspect contractors’ work, carry out related on-site work, resolve any problems, and ensure the use of safe practices & Conduct facility inspection, follow-up and maintain records.
  • Help prepare an annual inventory of spare parts, consumables, special tools, and test equipment. Review consumption discuss interchangeability with supervisor, initiate purchase requisitions for new materials, and assist with materials receipt & inspection.
  • Process of permits to work through to completion, authorize safety overrides, and enforce good housekeeping practices.
  • Discuss all operational malfunction and problems with Facility Engineer and Maintenance Engineer. Suggests possible solutions for recurring problems.
  • Take high level of responsibilities for own safety and the safety of work associates within the building, ensuring fire and safety procedures are adhered to all items and that appropriate safety equipment are worn. Must be aware of all alarms, emergency, and evacuation procedures.
  • Act as part of the emergency control room team in case of evacuations/emergency situations and takes appropriate action in accordance with fire and safety rules and regulations.
  • Review & supervise various operational parameters such as pressure, temperature, flow and level to ensure they are within the operating limits, takes corrective action and informs facilities engineers for the of abnormalities to ensure continuity in operations and meet the requirements of the building.
  • Help develop Plant Changes for modifications or improvements to existing systems and prepare drawings and technical specifications. Update on-site information & drawings and record as-built drawings.
  • Ensure that activities conform to ISO 9001, Quality Management system, ISO 14001, Environmental Management System and OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
  • Keep up to date in the respective field of engineering
  • Other reasonable tasks as assigned by Supervisors.

 

Requirements

  • High School diploma: Engineering diploma strongly preferred.
  • 2 - 5 years of relevant full-time work experience.
  • Certified vocational training.
  • Expertise in at least one technical discipline.
  • Field experience in construction, facilities management or from oil & gas industry.
  • Excellent understanding of safety precautions and emergency procedures
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, engineering drawings and document processes. 
  • Exposure to quality, environment, and occupational safety management systems.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications andto articulate ideas clearly and concisely; Arabic proficiency is an advantage
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
