Lowbed Driver - Grade 2

Red Ember Recruitment is currently recruiting for a client seeking an experienced Lowbed Driver. Purpose This role is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a lowbed truck for the transportation of heavy machinery, construction equipment, and oversized loads between sites, ensuring compliance with road safety regulations and company procedures. Responsibilities Operate lowbed truck to load, secure, transport, and offload heavy/ oversized equipment. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer, ensuring roadworthiness. Ensure proper loading techniques, including correct use of chains, binders, and securing devices. Comply with traffic laws, road transport regulations, and permit requirements for abnormal loads. Complete delivery and collection documentation (logbooks, trip sheets, delivery notes). Monitor vehicle condition and report any defects or maintenance requirements. Adhere to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures at all times. Coordinate with site Supervisors, Diesel Mechanics, and logistics teams regarding delivery schedules. Assist in minor maintenance or adjustments to secure loads when necessary.
