Claims Specialist
Quick Summary
About Us At Resilience, we’re creating a new category that integrates cybersecurity, cyber insurance, and cyber risk management.
At Resilience, we’re creating a new category that integrates cybersecurity, cyber insurance, and cyber risk management. Founded in 2016 by experts from across the highest tiers of the US military and intelligence communities – and built by prominent leaders and innovators from the insurance, technology, and cybersecurity industries – Resilience is rewriting the rules of how cyber risk is assessed, measured, and managed.
Our integrated cyber risk solutions connect risk quantification software, cybersecurity experts, and A+ rated cyber insurance, all purpose-built for middle and large organizations. We are a cybersecurity company, a Cyber and Tech E&O-focused MGA, a fintech startup, and a data science powerhouse, all purposefully built into one.
Resilience is proud to be backed by leading technology investment firms, including General Catalyst, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Intact Ventures, Founders Fund, CRV, and Shield Capital.
Step into a high-impact role on our global Claims and Incident Management team. As a Claims Specialist, you won't just process paperwork; you will own the day-to-day investigation and management of Cyber, Technology Errors & Omissions, and Miscellaneous Professional Lines claims. We need a driven, highly motivated professional to act as a critical defender of our bottom line and to seamlessly connect the incident response experience with our overarching mission of building true cyber resilience for our clients.
Responsibilities
~1 min readIn your first six months, you will take total ownership of a dedicated claims portfolio, efficiently conducting investigations, managing negotiations, and applying your expertise in insurance contracts to recommend accurate claim reserves. Moving beyond traditional claims handling, you will collaborate deeply with Resilience's internal security and technology teams to offer policyholders proactive incident response and preventative services. Furthermore, you will manage external service providers during incidents to aggressively reduce losses, ensure meticulous file documentation, and establish a continuous data/analytics feedback loop with our Underwriting team to directly refine our risk selection approach.
- 2–4 years of proven experience in claims handling, claims advocacy, or cyber insurance coverage.
- You must have a demonstrated ability to evaluate primary and excess coverage, navigate increasingly complex cases, and maintain exceptionally clear communication with diverse stakeholders, including insureds, brokers, vendors, and underwriters. (Note: A Juris Doctor (JD) degree is NOT required for this role).
- Expertise in handling third-party claims, particularly in Technology Errors & Omissions and Miscellaneous Professional Lines.
- Established connections within the cyber broking community, incident response, or cybersecurity sectors.
We move fast, operate with zero ego, and embrace a bias to action. We are guided strongly by our four core values: transparency, excellence, grit, and humility. You will work cross-functionally across our security, technology, and underwriting departments, requiring a proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
