In This Role, You’ll:
You’ll oversee and manage all general accounting functions, from accounts payable and receivable to the general ledger, payroll, and tax compliance. You will own the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring total accuracy and timeliness through the management of month-end and year-end close processes. By maintaining rigorous internal controls and adhering to federal, state, and local regulations, you will safeguard the company’s financial integrity while handling sensitive information with the highest level of discretion.
You’ll support leadership with critical financial reporting and insights, contributing directly to budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and external auditors, you will take the initiative to improve workflows and implement advanced accounting systems to drive agency-wide efficiency. As a professional representative of the company, you will proactively manage multiple priorities, uphold a positive work environment, and contribute innovative ideas that make our financial processes the best they can be.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Oversee all general accounting functions (AP/AR, general ledger, payroll, tax compliance)
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly and annual financial statements
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes
- Ensure compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Maintain and strengthen internal accounting controls and policies
- Provide financial reports and insights to support leadership decision-making
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Coordinate with external auditors to ensure smooth audits
- Manage payroll processing, including onboarding and offboarding coordination
- Identify and implement improvements to accounting systems and workflows
- Provide guidance or training to team members when needed
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience (agency experience is a strong plus)
- U.S. accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Google Sheets
- Advanced English (C1 or above)
- Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities independently
- High level of discretion in handling confidential financial information
