Take full ownership of assigned commercial workstreams, from initiation through to close-out

Manage multiple concurrent activities, ensuring alignment with project priorities and deadlines

Proactively identify risks, opportunities, and commercial issues, driving them to resolution

Manage project cost control, including budgets, forecasts, and cost-to-complete reporting
Administer subcontractor accounts, including valuations, payments, and final accounts
Prepare and assess variations, change orders, and claims, ensuring full contractual compliance
Maintain accurate commercial reporting, including cash flow and cost variance analysis
Proactively identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
Ensure effective contract administration in line with contract conditions
Support and contribute to the final account agreement and close-out
Ensure all commercial activities are delivered in line with contractual obligations and company procedures
Produce high-quality, accurate, and complete outputs with minimal rework required
Deliver clear and detailed commercial reports demonstrating strong understanding and analysis
Ensure all deliverables meet client expectations in terms of detail, completeness, and professionalism
Engage effectively with client(s), contractors, and internal teams
Support the Senior Commercial Manager with strategic commercial input
Build and maintain strong working relationships while protecting commercial interests
Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency in progressing and closing out actions
Work independently with minimal supervision, taking initiative without constant direction
Anticipate requirements and act ahead of deadlines

Requirements
~1 min readDegree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, with proven experience at Senior QS level
Strong knowledge of commercial management and contract administration
Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams independently
Strong track record of delivering accurate, complete, and high-quality outputs
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
Strong organisational capability with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
Effective prioritisation skills with the ability to respond to changing project demands
High attention to detail, ensuring thorough, accurate, and quality-driven work
Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and accountability for deliverables and outcomes
Ability to work autonomously, applying sound judgment with minimal supervision
Proactive approach in identifying potential challenges and implementing effective solutions
Ability to take full responsibility for workstreams from initiation through to completion
Consistently delivers comprehensive, well-structured, and detailed outputs
Demonstrates a responsive and engaged approach, with a strong sense of urgency in delivery
MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) – preferred
Candidates not yet chartered must show clear progression toward achieving MRICS, with an expectation to obtain accreditation within an agreed timeframe
