At RK Electrical, our Electrical Estimators play a key role in bringing projects to life through accurate estimating, thoughtful planning, and strong collaboration. In this role, you'll review project documents, develop detailed material and labor takeoffs, coordinate vendor and subcontractor pricing, and build complete, competitive estimates that support successful project execution.

You'll work closely with the Preconstruction Team, general contractors, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and field operations to clarify project scope, identify gaps, and uncover value engineering opportunities. Whether you're growing your estimating career or bringing advanced technical expertise, you'll help set projects up for success from bid development through operational turnover.

  • Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to identify electrical scope and project requirements
  • Prepare detailed material, labor, and equipment takeoffs to develop complete and accurate estimates
  • Identify and document nonstandard project conditions, scope gaps, and potential design challenges

  • Validate estimate accuracy by comparing pricing and data against similar bids and previous projects
  • Participate in project turnover to Operations and serve as a liaison between Estimating and Field Operations
  • Follow up on awarded bids, maintain organized electronic files, and support additional estimating needs as assigned
  • A college degree or an equivalent combination of relevant skills and experience
  • A solid understanding of the estimating process, project documentation, scope identification, and takeoff development
  • Experience coordinating pricing, quotes, and scope with vendors, subcontractors, general contractors, and engineers
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to identify scope gaps, evaluate project conditions, and develop practical solutions
  • Proficiency with estimating tools and standard office software relevant to the role
