STATUS: Full Time
LOCATION: Unity Hospital
DEPARTMENT: Emergency Department
SCHEDULE: Nights, 7:00pm - 7:00am; 12 shifts per month with typically every third weekend coverage

Prior experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

Patient Satisfaction: Interacts on a frequent, regular and daily basis with patients, family members, medical/social/public services support, regulatory agencies and/or payor agencies. Interaction and communication requires expressed empathy, understanding, problem-solving, education, information gathering, process influencing and counseling.
Medication & Orders: Prescribes drugs, devices and immunizing agents according to policy and practice agreement.
Collaboration: Performs therapeutic and corrective measures within area of expertise in collaboration with other health team members.

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.
