Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Must have Diploma or Associate’s Degree in one of the following areas:

Nursing
Polysomnography Technology OR Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy OR successful completion of a certificate program in Respiratory Therapy Technology

Must have at least one of the following:

Registered Nurse license in New York State
NYS Authorization as a Polysomnographic Technologist, Respiratory Therapist, or Respiratory Therapy Technician
Polysomnography Technicians: Must pass the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists exam and obtain the Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential within 2 years of initial NYS registration
RT/RTTs: Must pass the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Certified Respiratory Therapist examination (CRT) and the Registry Examination (RRT) and obtain credentials within 1 year of the initial NYS registration

Demonstrated computer skills appropriate for the position.
Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated customer service skills.
Demonstrated critical thinking and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.
