Region Vehicle Maintenance Managers provide strategic oversight of vehicle and container maintenance operations across multiple locations, ensuring a safe, reliable, and cost-effective fleet enterprise-wide. This position leads and develops the region's Maintenance Managers and their teams, driving performance standards that prioritize safety, quality, and productivity. Region Vehicle Maintenance Managers also own end-to-end accountability for container maintenance and inventory management across the region. Through talent development, coaching, and performance management of Maintenance Managers, this role ensures consistent operational excellence and regulatory compliance across the entire fleet network.

• →Provide strategic leadership and oversight to Maintenance Managers across multiple locations, ensuring effective workforce planning, budgeted payroll and DOT hour compliance, and consistent management of attendance, vacation, and leave scheduling
• →Drive operational excellence through quarterly audits of preventive maintenance, road calls, warranty recovery, and parts inventory management at each location
• →Ensure all maintenance operations meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards, maintaining full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as company policy across every site
• →Build maintenance department capability by guiding managers on hiring, training, work assignment, performance management, and staffing within budgeted hours
• →Serve as the key liaison to Regional and Area leadership, providing regular visibility into fleet, container, and equipment status across the territory
• →Own maintenance financial performance, partnering with location managers to meet budgeted costs across internal and external repairs, personnel, purchasing, inventory, and maintenance metric trends
• →Maintain fleet-wide DOT compliance through consistent oversight of vehicle inspections and repairs
• →Ensure garage operations across all locations run efficiently, with full accountability for procedures and timely completion of assigned responsibilities
• →Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility:

• →This position will manage 1-10 employees
• →This position will oversee and direct other managers

Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:

• →Communicates clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing, across all levels of the organization
• →Highly organized and detail-oriented, managing multiple priorities and projects without losing sight of accuracy or deadlines
• →Strong planning and organizational skills that enable effective delegation and execution across the department
• →Ability to work effectively both independently and in leading cross-functional teams, driving accountability and results across the department
• →Ability to meet deadlines and ensure assignments and deliverables are completed within established timeframes, holding team members to the same standard
• →Ability to analyze trends and data to proactively identify improvement opportunities, translating insights into actionable strategies that drive operational performance

Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:

• →5 years of industry experience managing multiple locations
• →CDL preferred
• →Computer proficiency in Windows, Microsoft applications (Word & Excel); and SAP software preferred

Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday:

• →Frequently lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 10 lbs
• →Occasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 50 lbs
• →Rarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 100 lbs
• →Frequently working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions
• →Continuously working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter
• →Frequently stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling
• →Frequently climbing and/or balancing
• →Frequently sitting/standing/walking

Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:

• →Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas
• →Exposure to residential and commercial waste
• →Ability to travel between offices, as required
• →Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
• →Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays
• →Must be available for 24-hour emergency calls
• →Legally eligible to work in the United States
• →Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
• →Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
• →Must be able to read and speak the English language
