Senior Housekeeper

                                                               SENIOR HOUSEKEEPER

Sandy Lane Hotel, an exclusive AAA Five Diamond resort and a member of Leading Hotels of the World, is seeking to recruit a Senior Housekeeper.

The Role

The Senior Housekeeper will report to the Assistant Executive Housekeeper and/or the Director of Housekeeper. responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation and upkeep of assigned guest rooms, suites and other designated areas.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Inspect rooms following turndown service and ensure all required amenities, supplies and presentation standards are in place.

• Follows sign in and out procedure for key control, security and confidentiality

• Clean, service and inspect assigned guest rooms, suites and other designated areas, including bedrooms, bathrooms and guest areas, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation and overall condition are maintained.
• Monitor and maintain mini-bars, refrigerators and other in-room amenities, including replenishment and stock rotation where applicable.
• Conduct regular stock counts and record and report any shortages.
• Maintain pantries, housekeeping areas and storage areas in a clean, organised and orderly manner.
• Identify and promptly report defects, damage, maintenance requirements or other deficiencies to the relevant department.
• Assign, coordinate and monitor deep-cleaning and special cleaning assignments as required, ensuring that work is completed to established standards.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and assist in providing personalised service where required.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion at all times in relation to guests, their information, belongings and activities.
• Communicate effectively with Housekeeping, Maintenance and other relevant departments to ensure the proper upkeep of assigned areas and timely resolution of issues.

Our ideal candidate must possess:

• A secondary level education and the ability to understand, read, write and speak English proficiently
• A good Secondary school education
• One year’s experience or any form of training in the position
• Ability to work under pressure and be multi-skilled
• Ability to perform extensive walking, bending and stretching and be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to resolve issues quickly
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  
• The ability to work under stress calmly and professionally in a busy environment.
• Ability to handle complaints and converse with guest
• Ability to maintain discipline and get the work done to the time schedule
• Knowledge of Sandy Lane Hotel and its facilities
• Any floor care knowledge of marble, hardwood floors would be an asset
• Ability to assign deep cleaning project as needed
