The City of Seabrook is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and collaborative Accounting Manager to join our Finance Department!

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys more than just working with numbers. We're looking for someone who can lead, problem-solve, improve processes, support a team, and help ensure the financial integrity of the City.

Responsibilities

You'll have the opportunity to work across a variety of financial functions, including:

  • →General ledger accounting and reconciliations
  • →Financial reporting and year-end close
  • →Accounts payable and vendor management
  • →Fixed assets
  • →Grants and project accounting
  • →Budget preparation and financial analysis
  • →Annual audit preparation
  • →Internal controls and process improvements
  • →GASB compliance, including GASB 101, 87 and 96
  • →Coordination and development of Accounting staff
  • →Preparation and support of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR)

The position also serves as a key independent accounting reviewer and helps maintain appropriate segregation of duties and strong financial controls.

The position calls for strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, AP, reconciliations, budgeting, audits, and financial analysis. 

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience: Governmental accounting experience is desired

Other Requirement: Ability to be bonded
