The City of Seabrook is seeking an experienced and creative Director of Public Affairs to lead how we communicate, connect, and engage with our community.
This is more than a communications position. You'll help shape the City's voice, advise leadership, tell Seabrook's story, strengthen our brand, manage media relations, and ensure residents receive timely and accurate information when it matters most.
Responsibilities

- →Serve as the City's Public Information Officer and primary media contact
- →Lead the City's social media, website, digital communications, and public outreach
- →Oversee branding, graphic design, publications, photography, video, and multimedia content
- →Develop press releases, campaigns, announcements, and other public-facing communications
- →Advise City leadership and elected officials on communications and media matters
- →Lead public communications during emergencies and significant events
- →Oversee public meeting recording, broadcasting, and streaming
- →Support community programs, City events, town halls, and public engagement initiatives
- →Use communication and outreach analytics to evaluate effectiveness and identify new opportunities
- →Lead and develop the Public Affairs team
The position plays a key role in maintaining consistent, accessible, and timely communication across the City's website, social media, Nextdoor, municipal PEG channel, publications, and other official platforms. Director of Public Affairs
We're looking for someone who combines strategy with creativity - someone who can lead the big picture while also understanding what it takes to produce strong, engaging content.
Our ideal candidate is a strong writer and communicator with experience in communications, marketing, journalism, multimedia, video production, publications, website management, or a related field.
The position requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, five years of professional experience, and at least one year of supervisory or management experience.
