Valet Attendant Location: The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center - St. Louis, MO Job Type: Full-Time/ Part-Time Travel: None Summary: Valet Attendants work directly with VA patients and visitors by providing services to valet park vehicles and provide assistance in/pot of vehicles.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Greet and assist Veteran patients who request help in exiting or entering their vehicle.
- →If requested on arrival, either retrieve VA provided wheelchairs or remove VA patient’s wheelchair from VA patient’s vehicle and assist VA patient into the wheelchair.
- →Ensure cleanliness and safety of valet staging and parking areas.
- →Park or retrieve VA patient vehicles respectively within ten (10) minutes of arrival or request for retrieval.
- →Ensure only Veteran patients, or the STL VAMC defined exceptions, park in designated valet parking areas.
- →Provide self-parking directions to visitors, employees, and vendors.
- →Monitor / report suspicious people, incidents, and / or hazardous situations in the valet staging / parking areas to the on-duty Valet Manager and VA Police as appropriate.
- →Safely parking and retrieving valet parking eligible vehicles
- →For valet-parked vehicles:
- →Providing instructions to valet-parked vehicle drivers on how to check and claim their valet-parked vehicles.
Requirements

- Valid U.S. driver's license with a minimum of two years driving experience.
- U.S. Citizenship
- Fluent in English
- Pass 5-panel drug testing clearance.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Clean DMV driving history review.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to use foot/ankle motions, hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
