Perform search and rescue operations to save lives at sea.

Conduct environmental protection duties, including pollution prevention and response.

Train continuously to maintain operational readiness and professional development.

Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Age: 17–31 (with parental consent if under 18).

High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted).

Meet physical, medical, and moral requirements established by the Coast Guard.

Pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test.
