ABOUT THE ROLE:
Within Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Markets integrates research, execution, risk management, and multi-asset structuring capabilities to deliver client-focused market solutions. As a member of the MARK Operational Risk Management (ORM) team, this position is responsible for implementing, managing, reviewing, and automating first-line controls for the Capital Markets division in the Americas. The scope includes Written Supervisory Procedures (WSPs), checklist management, and broader support for regulatory programs and initiatives that strengthen the control framework.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide day-to-day support to the Equities business line on delegated tasks requiring coordination and, where necessary, an immediate response
Support supervisory control managers in resolving issues and proactively identifying risk
Build strong relationships with support functions, including IT, Operations, Finance, Legal, Risk, and Compliance
Work with Compliance and other support functions to investigate and remediate exceptions identified through reviews of first-line controls
Prioritize issues based on urgency, define solutions, escalate appropriately, and track actions assigned to other areas that affect the first-line control function
Respond to internal inquiries and assist Compliance with responses to external regulatory inquiries
Develop and maintain knowledge of applicable market rules and regulations, and keep procedures and management documents current
Oversee execution of regulatory priorities in partnership with Risk, IT, Operations, Legal, and Compliance
Conduct control testing, support risk assessments, and contribute to management reporting
Participate in projects to review and enhance first-line controls, provide status updates, and support project management activities
Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team, including through automation
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or U.S. equivalent in Finance, Financial Engineering, Engineering, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field
10+ years of experience in a global financial organization across multiple products
Experience in a comparable Front Office, Operations, Compliance, or control role
Experience interacting directly with business-line personnel and resource functions, including Operations, IT, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Accounting
Competencies

Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to interact effectively with traders, brokers, Operations, IT development, infrastructure, and other stakeholders
Collaborative team-player mindset and comfort working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
Project management skills
Technical Skills
General understanding of broker-dealer products, operations, and back-office trade flows, particularly within institutional equities
Understanding of electronic trading platforms, algorithmic trading, and derivatives is a plus
Understanding of U.S. and global regulatory environments
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including strong Excel skills
Series 7 is a plus

COMPENSATION:
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience. The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and includes a competitive benefits package including 401(k) plan with company match, medical/dental/vision, and other benefits for fertility, wellness, student loans and commuters.
