Type of contract: Independent Contractor
Type of job: Remote
About the Company:
Our client is a US-based e-commerce group with several connected businesses: a marketplace services arm, its own consumer brand, and a new multi-brand online store. They are hiring a strategist who knows what sells to American shoppers online and can turn that knowledge into a plan for each product and brand.
About the Role:
You’ll start on the in-house brand and the new store, where the need is greatest. Your job is to look at a product or brand, work out what will connect with a US consumer, and decide how to position, list, price, and distribute it. On the new store you’ll move between many brands and product lines at once, so switching context quickly matters. You’ll also act as a working partner to leadership on the new business, keeping priorities and next steps on track. As the role grows, there’s room to support the agency’s brand managers on client accounts.
Success means sharper strategy on every product you touch and steady growth in what sells online.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess products and brands and build a clear strategy for how to sell each one to US consumers online
- Shape positioning, messaging, and product listing content so it lands with American shoppers
- Direct and review listing content and uploads done by the wider team to make sure it’s accurate, on-brand, and built to convert
- Develop channel and distribution strategy across marketplaces, the group’s own site, and retail and distributor partners
- Drive growth for the in-house wellness brand, working with the founding team on marketing, inventory, and advertising
- Help build the new multi-brand store, including which brands and products to carry and how to present them
- Keep projects accountable and moving forward as a hands-on partner to leadership
- Stay current on e-commerce trends and marketplace changes, and bring new ideas to the team
- Support the agency’s brand managers on client strategy as needed
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Hands-on experience selling consumer products to the US market through e-commerce
- Working knowledge of the Amazon marketplace, with Walmart Marketplace experience a strong advantage
- Clear understanding of what drives US online buying behavior and how to position a product for American shoppers
- Understanding of how products move through distribution, including the roles of brands, distributors, retailers, and marketplaces
- Ability to manage strategy across multiple brands and product catalogs at once, switching between them without losing quality
- Proven ability to think independently and come up with original ways to sell a product, without waiting for direction
- Excellent written and verbal English
Preferred
- Previous experience on Amazon’s Seller Support team, or deep familiarity with how the platform works from the inside
- Genuine interest in wellness, outdoor living, or healthy lifestyle products
- Experience on the agency side, supporting several brands or manufacturers at the same time
- Background running or building an online brand of your own
- Familiarity with website and storefront development for direct-to-consumer brands
Who Thrives in This Role:
- Endlessly curious about e-commerce and always learning what’s new in the space
- Thinks on their feet and enjoys finding a fresh angle on a product
- Comfortable owning decisions in a small, founder-led team with little structure yet
- Organized enough to juggle many brands at once and keep each one moving
- Takes initiative and holds themselves accountable without being chased
